Yaya wants out allegedly

Love Yaya. Hope he doesn't go but if his agent wants another pay day may as well lose him at the top of his market vale.

Thinking about what he bings to the team well a hell of a lot but mainly power creativity and general inspiration to lift the team in big moments.

Nothing like him physically but maybe thats the kind of role Lavezzi could be given

Two significant reasons why Yaya came to our club:
1. He wasnt getting played at Barca by the now departed PG. Apparently 80% of Barca fans now want him back. New manager new approach?
2. He wanted to play with Kolo, who has been overlooked recently and looks likely to leave the club this summer.
Ever since he arrived he made no secret that he wanted to return to Barca. His 29th birthday was on Sunday possibly he's thought its now or never to return?
I suspect RM has some replacement strategy in mind. Possibly DDR? now Roma have finished outside Europe.
He will be a tremendous loss, I love Yaya. He is a big game match winner. However I for one dont want to keep an unhappy player.

The Ivory coast midfielder told City TV: 'We have been unbelievable.

'I thank all but I think next year will be more and I hope City will become a great club in the world.

'I will think about the new season and I hope it will be more exciting than the last one.

'I think the fans may enjoy it more because now we have fantastic players, they are growing.

'They have fantastic talent and I think next year we will get more cups than this year.'

Sounds gutted.
He says "I will think about the new season" what is there to think about unless he is not 100% happy? That statement implied he may not stay.
Also saying "I hope City will become a great club in the world." He seperates himself from the club. Why not say "I hope we will become a great club". I realise his English is not completely fluent but there are some comments there that could imply he may not stay.
I am gutted about all this. I dont want him to leave but all our players have not grown up supporting Man City like most of our fans.
He obviously loves Barca he has made no secret from day one.
But you ignoring the fact he says:

'I think the fans may enjoy it more because now we have fantastic players, they are growing.

'They have fantastic talent and I think next year we will get more cups than this year.'

Wouldn't normally be worried as we're coming up to silly season. However, the direct quotes from the agent do not sit comfortably with me.

at least there not from toure

yeah but who is the agent representing? If Yaya doesnt want him saying this shit he would/should tell him.

Do one idiot, it's true.

Cry me a river! We might as well not bother then next season if Yaya leaves.

How did we manage to beat QPR without him on the pitch.... idiot!

We're not the old Manchester City - IF and it's a big IF he goes then we will find a suited replacement.

Plus 1 - City are bigger and more important than ANY player

It would be very hard to replace him that's for sure, he's the closest thing to Vieira in world football. There are 4 or 5 "next Vieira/Yaya" types like Moussa Sissoko but you're guaranteed nothing from them. Javi Martinez, Arturo Vidal (gets plenty of goals), or De Rossi could be our best options to replace him, though Martinez plays as a central defender all the time for Bilbao now which means he isn't getting chance to develop as a midfielder.

A bit annoyed that the club hasn't moved to crush these rumours if they are false.

Alright fellas, calm down.

And it's been shown several times in the thread that the guy is talking nonsense, stop flapping.

He's not going anywhere, after the season he's had his agent is probably stirring it up for a new contract. Yaya doesn't need a new challenge, he's won the Premier League but he has got it all to do with us to win the Champions League, no other club can provide a similar or bigger challenge.

Why would going to Chelsea be a challenge when he has won the Premier League? Why would going to an inferior league and playing for Bayern Munich be a challenge? Why would he go back to the club where he won everything for a new challenge?

He was treated badly at Barca and they locked him out, why would he want to go back there. They have a history of appointing managers of Catalan origin who play Catalan or academy trained players, that probably won't change come next season. It is highly unlikely they'll want him back to play before Busquets.. Nor can they actually afford him because we wouldn't want the money we'll want something tangible if we were to lose Yaya to them.

He isn't going anywhere, if Kolo leaves however, maybe that could change things a little but other than that this is tactics by his agent to get a new contract. Yaya is contracted to this club for a few years yet so if he does leave it would have to be for a massive sum and not only that but possibly a world class player coming in the other direction.
