'Mourinho has not called me' – Yaya Toure coy on Real Madrid link

After his agent claimed that he wants "new challenges", the Manchester City midfielder denies contact from the Spanish champions but says that "we have to see what happens"

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has denied that he has been approached by Real Madrid but added that “we have to wait and see what happens” over their reported interest.

Though the Ivorian has publicly stated that he is happy at the Etihad Stadium, his agent has claimed that his client wants “new challenges” after City wrapped up the Premier League title and the player himself has mentioned a desire to one day return to former side Barcelona.

When asked about interest from Madrid by Catalan radio station RAC1, Toure stated: “I cannot say anything about that.

“We have to wait and see what happens. [Coach Jose] Mourinho has not called me.

“I have hunger to continue and be better,” he added of the aftermath of City’s triumph in beating rivals Manchester United on goal difference.

Toure was in Catalunya to visit his friend and former Barca colleague, Eric Abidal, who is recovering from a liver transplant which he underwent in April.

“He is very well and in a good spirit,” he revealed.

The left-back will miss France’s Euro 2012 campaign as he continues his recovery.

Personally I think if he really wants to go then we should cash in, not only would we be getting a huge amount off our wage budget, but he's like what? 29? Take that money, buy someone else who will be on less wages.

He's a quality player no doubt, but he's not the only one. There are plenty of world class players out there.

If and i'm saying IF it's true and he really has been pushing for a move then we should get rid. He's come in and he's helped us win the FA Cup and the League, but in the end this club is still bigger than him.

I'd be a bit annoyed and think it's a bit disrespectful if these stories are true. Fully appreciate what he's done so far, but I hate the feeling of not knowing what's going on and him snaking about behind the club's back.

£50m?

When we sign a player we should put in his contract that there agent can't talk shit about his players wants out and if they do it'll cost em 500k

Won everything he wants to win at City? New challenge? Agent working for a new contract me thinks...sign him up on a 3 year contract I say.

Yaya is hardly denying it is he? I don't understand what he wants, is it the lifestyle as he has everything here, and in his own words is part of something special.

Madrid and Barcelona can take any player in the world from any club, particularly Madrid. It's unfortunate but has always been the case, hope Yaya stays but things like this are bound to happen now we've got genuine world class players.

Exactly.

He is not denying, but welcoming the interest from Real Madrid.

IF he is willing to go, then 40 Million Pound should be the minimum price for him IMO.
