that is all.

The thing that's so impressive about that isn't simply that he kept the ball almost flawlessly, it's that he did it while spreading the play, hitting the wingers and generally just playing relatively ambitious passes.

He's an excellent ball-player.

yes but look where he gave his one bad pass away?

right in front of our area - rubbish!!

Wonder how he managed it though with it beign such a short pass? Might have just poked his leg in to intercept a Liverpool pass or something?

As Brwned says it's not like Yaya was just playing simple sidewards and abckwards easy passes all the time, he opens up and swicthes it brilliantly

And Brwned's a rag, he's becoming one of the best posters on here!

He is a great player and his long legs are a great weapon is knicking ball even when running behind/side on to oppostion. There was one incident in Romania where he lost ball and despite not really being fit you could see adrenalin kicked in and he won it back with a (old) Viera style lanky leg. Was a class moment that showed what he is capable of when he feels he needs to stretch himself.
Great that other players don't dive in on him as they know he has Barca ability to leave them looking silly on their arse. This give him the respect and time he gets on ball.

of the top 5 passers in prem yaya has the best accuracy and is in the top 5 not too shoddy rely?

I am sick and tired of ignorant and useless no mark journalists telling us that Yaya is a defensive midfield player. Where do they find these pillocks. Anyone who came to the game against Olympiakos about 5 years ago would testify what a magnificent all power box to box midfielder he is.I am sure many of you have watched him with interest ever since. I never dreamed we would get him, imho he could be the best midfield player in the league. The fact that he played deeper for Barca is simply because they had two rather good and established central midfielders in Xavi and Iniesta.
he is going to be one of the best players in the prem,if not already.

-- Thu Aug 26, 2010 1:08 pm --
