Simon, I'm going to get slated for this but to me he's a big problem. We play him as the attacking midfielder, middle of the three. He is one of the big reasons why our build up play is so ponderous and slow. He is slow on the ball and a very negative passer. I don't think his vision's brilliant. I don't think he finds space very well.

He's got something, you can see that. At home he becomes the target for the goal kicks and wins a few. When he gets going, like a supertanker, he can shift. But these runs he makes are rarely productive. I had really high hopes for him when he arrived as his passing in the pre-season looked superb. He can hit the ball too, but rarely accurately.

I don't think he fits well into the premiership due to the amount of time he appears to need on the ball - the same way that Robinho couldn't. Obviously he's a hugely different player but it's the pace and directness of the premiership which some players can't cope with.

I can't really see where he fits in our system either. He's be better in a 4-4-2 or on the right side of a midfield diamond.

Controversial I know, but I think he fills the space Silva should be in, particularly at home. I think when AJ returns we should look to drop him. I know many thing he should play alongside NDJ, and I know he's played there in the past, but he hasn't really impressed me when he's played there either.

A disappointing signing for me if I'm honest. Yesterday encapsulated all my points above to me.

Feeling silly now?

It's pretty harsh bringing up posts from years ago, i dare say most of us have got some embarrassing ones in there, but this is an absolute belter.

I reckon every single person here has some proper cringy posts in their history, I know I have plenty of them. A few of mine got dragged up a while back which was a cunts trick, as is this.

The world of an English football in summed up in two players;

Zabba- hero/warrior
Yaya- lazy/slow

In truth they are worlds apart in quality and I'd rather 11 Yaya's than 11 Zabba's but I guess I'll be the only one.

Zabaleta's not good enough either. His lack of pace and poor distribution hamper us hugely in a narrow system. He's a good battler, is defensively strong (for a slow player) and his versatility is useful in the squad. He's probably our first choice at left back at the moment even though it isn't his natural position. But that's more about our squad deficiencies.

He's the modern day Ian Brightwell in a nutshell. Well worth having around, reliable, veratile, but too slow. A bench player.

Bloody hell DD!

Haha I didn't see that. I also didn't see my comment about Zabba, so cheers for that Alex, you ****.

Can I just say that Zabba is a true hero, warrior and I would love 5 Zabba's and 6 Yaya' in my team please.

Fucking hell, hahaha.

This is like DD's worst nightmares in one thread.

I cannot understand the need to slag players off, full stop. But the shit that Yaya gets in this forum is unbelieveable. What he has achieved with City has been amazing in overall terms, but especially some of the key moments like the winning goal in an FA Cup semi final and final, turning the league cup final, the 2 goals at Newcastle the week before QPR. Also his presence at the club has been imperative in terms of bringing in other big name players. I don't know where to find the stats, but I would be gobsmacked if they proved that he is lazy - for 4 years now he has been pivotal in the way we play, in linking defence to attack, and there are very few players who are as box to box as he is - when you have put in a major shift, and done a few 60 yard surging runs I defy any player not to be a bit tired, but lazy is just bollocks - show me the stats to back up the lazy claims. Also he has played in most games since he joined us, rarely injured, rarely rotated. Yaya is a Manchester City God

A lot less I told you so's and this forum would be a much better one.

We've all made bad judgement calls.
