Yaya

Fucking hell Dave, tevez now this (:

I have to say 90% of city fans didn't know what they were getting in yaya, there's a good few on here, and I put myself in that bracket, who watch European football as much as the prem, he was always going to be the foundation of what we were trying to build but giving time is not a common denominator for the average football fan, especially city fans.

jay is right though, these bumps are becoming a common occurrence , I've done it myself, I'd expect one for me writing off Liverpool so easily, however, people should really grasp by now the magnitude of yaya and where we find ourselves today because of him, he's simply going down as one of our greatest ever, those of a certain age should let that sink in and thank themselves lucky they're seeing it in flesh!

I don't mind the odd bump like this personally. It's interesting to look back at previous thoughts with the benefits of hindsight, as long as it isn't too snide and 'I told you so'. There's that many variables in football we all call things wrong. So what? It's funny and I bet there are some corkers out there from myself

Dragging up posts from the past is a low blow! You have to look at the context. Zabaleta when he first signed was a completely different player to the one he is now. He was rash in the tackle, not particularly disciplined but his improvement over the years has been incredible from the player we first signed. Not many improve that much! As for Yaya, well he was an enigma when we signed him - a defensive midfielder apparently, who could play centre back. His languid, lazy style is something that you would criticise when things are going badly, as we did with Nasri and Adebayor and Dzeko! But he is unplayable at times the way he strides forward and his vision and passing this season in particular have gotten even better!

I'm sure DD will be happy to admit that things are different now! In his defence, he did suggest perhaps the system was wrong for Yaya...

I was questioning Aguero's role in the side earlier in the season... just felt we were better with an extra man in midfield and that Aguero was often isolated as the lone striker and found it difficult to get into games when on his own. Pellegrini then played 4-4-2 and Aguero was scoring for fun so I kept my thoughts to myself from then on!!!

How could we possibly replace him in the coming years?

Fernandinho.

Theres only 2 years between them

That's two more years to find another Yaya. Then we'll be asking how we could possibly replace Ferna...

The future is Blue... We will always have the best - They'll want to come to City.

A lot less I told you so's and this forum would be a much better one.

We've all made bad judgement calls.

Quite. If everything were recorded anyone with enough time and determination could dig up something stupid.
