yaya.....

Re: Yaya - World class

A lot of lousy knee jerk reactions in the thread and it seems to be regular reaction after a disappointing match- rage then pick a player to lynch to vent your frustrations be it, lescott, yaya, garcia, dzeko, any easy target.

It is obvious to Mancini and to many that wants to see but apparently not to the manager that yaya, sitting too deep in any away match is essentially playing with 10 men because he does not have the energy to chase around to win tackles and does not find the space to penetrate a packed away midfield with his surging runs.

He should be an attacking midfielder or supporting striker in this kind of games and that is when he will show his real qualities as the best player in the squad and have a real impact.

The manager have to grasp this really fast.

YAYA and Barry sucks last season, YAYA and Fer sucks in previous two games, YAYA and Rodwell sucks bigtime this match. I believe it is time to realize if you have a player always walks on the pitch, you are not going to have a dominant middle field.
We have been the YAYA team for the last 4 years, we are good when he is good, we make our tatics around a guy that is going downward fast. GOD HELP US

Re: Yaya - World class

People's frustration with Yaya is not his fault. They either don't understand his role on the team or they are expecting him to play a different role.

His role is to link the play from defence to midfield. He does this very well. Problem is lack of creative, movement and urgency of the forward players.

My biggest problem with yaya is that he is being asked to play a lesser role. He probably is the best attacking midfielder on the team and can help team better in that role.

agree. get rid of this lazy sack

Re: Yaya - World class

Always love Yaya for the first 2 seasons but it's time to realize he can't play in a midfield 2. No tempo and is completely unmobile.

Play him behind the forward or don't bother!

You know what, let's play him as a forward. I'm serious that is the only position doesn't required to track back and can walk 80 minutes of the entire match.

He's playing a slightly different role atm. Playing from deep and dictating the play, unfortunately a lot of people don't understand his quality passing. They would rather he ran round like little Scotty Parker. Typical English mentality.

He's playing a different role and has looked shite doing it. It's nothing to do with English mentality you smug prick.

If he's going to play there he needs to get his foot in and win the ball occassionally at least.

Yaya even in the premier league winning year was still frustrating. That is a major flaw in his game. But to talk about not using him or as some people are suggesting, getting rid of him is just folly and an impulsive reaction. The manager has to find the best way to use him and it is not by playing him deep as a holding midfielder.

It will be difficult to find any replacements for Yaya and he is still a valuable asset for the squad and a source of envy for other teams.

So stop the knee jerk reactions.

Re: Yaya - World class

Play him behind the striker. Simple as. At DM he's just wasted like before City. It was only when we put him up did he undisputedly become world class. Hes got a good striker in him but putting him yards infront of the back four and having him sprint into good position is asking too much of The Yaya.
