Love the reaction.

Suddenly one goal after two seasons of shit and he's superstar Yaya again, haha!!
Are you saying he never scored in the last couple of years. I can remember two or three important ones this season!!
He is a lazy fucker I agree and has been on the slide

Apologies if already posted.

So it should be, but not just for the strike, the team build up before that was better than the strike for me, a real quality goal.

We wouldn't be able control the game with the two Ferns and/or Delph. They need a technical player next to them, and Yaya is the only one we have who can play in a deeper central role.
He has to play were he was last night end of but within the system used which is a form of "two" but with a kind of safety net because of the roles of the central defenders and the other midfielders. Personally I think he gets lost when pushed too far forward particularly early in the game. He is at his best when he can dictate the pace and direction of the game but with others making sure he is not exposed. Not sure how this will work out against the really big guns however.

We should be playing with Ferny and Nando in a two with Yaya just in front in a triangle sort of shape. two in front of them and one more. That way Yaya can control the attacks knowing he has those two behind him and if the full backs just trying to play higher than Sergio then the back four has a little more solidity...

I wasn't no but to be honest I can't remember a decisive goal against a top 6 Premier League or European team in quite a while before last night now you come to mention it.

My sarcasm was more knowing that the usual Yaya fans would completely ignore anything negative about his performance because of his goal.

Play Kompany or Zaba in defensive midfield? Where do you play Fernando then?

See this is the problem, yes Yaya's inability to hack the pace is costing us but the alternatives are worse.
I agree that he has obvious mobility problems and does need a lot of resting upthese days but at present he has to start most big games as he is the only one with the technical ability to play that role. Kompany or Zabba only displace Ferny who is doing quite well there at the moment so what is the point in that

But then there is no link between defence and attack. Fernandinho hasn't shown he can be that link. He has shown he can support someone, but it takes an awful lot to ask to reveive the ball under pressure and retain it whilst also playing a positive forward pass.

And in actual fact, if we have Fernando and Dinho playing centrally, we don't need Toure running around like a loon to win it back.

This Is where I have a problem with his criticism. Some players are untouchable and some are slated no matter what.

We could get played through time and time again with Dinho and Fernando supposedly protecting the back four, yet it will be Yaya's fault for not tracking a man who was never his man in the first place.

If we have a back four, plus two midfielders who supposedly specialise in protecting said back four, Yaya should be able to let a midfielder run past him without worrying about it. If Dinho or Fernando were capable of controlling a game, Yaya wouldn't need to be so deep. I think because he comes deep to take the ball, people also expect him to defend in a deep position too, but in my mind he is only coming so deep because nobody is capable enough on the ball. As a midfielder his work rate should be compared more so to that of Silva and De Bruynes, and not Dinho or Fernando's, because he is there primarily to attack.
Excellent post which his critics should study carefully

Fuck off with that Yaya fans nonsense, we are all City fans debating the merit or otherwise of Yaya in the side.

As far as I can make out most acknowledge his defensive frailties regardless of what their stance is regarding him starting or not.

Seriously thouh, mthe reason we got away with it last night was cos pellers knew we were playing a side hat plays with a lot of widh, hence dinho on the right to cut out atacks before hey happened. Dont think it will work as well v pool but we'll see.
