Yemen School Bus Attack

And we still sell the terrorist supporting nation who have dropped between 25%-33% of bombs on targets like these. Whether it be medical facilities, resedential properties, schools etc.

Forgot British jobs are far more important.

But it supports British manufacturing jobs !!

Also jobs supplying countries outside the EU will be valued when we leave the EU and look to trade with the rest of the world.................oh hang on.......

It is big news because he has a long history of siding with murderers. How this man has a chance of running our country is beyond most people.

Isn't may doing exactly the same in this instance staying silent over such as this bus attack.

Why maybe the biggest most shamefull act by a politition when it comes to siding with murderers thatcher and her support of pinochet?

Glass houses amd all that guff.

We fund and supply the countries that are murdering Yemeni kids, it's that simple, but then we are not the only ones

Correct. It's truly shocking that she hasn't uttered one word.

You lot lose any argument you have about this appalling atrocity by desperately trying to score political points with it.

This isnt a Labour v Tory story.

WTF has May or any other UK politician got to do with someone dropping a bomb and killing innocent kids?

Do you want her to declare war on those responsible? Will a public condemnation do any good and appease you? is there a possibility that behind the scenes and through diplomacy we and others around the world also silent have told them in no uncertain terms and utterly disgusted we are and that it needs to stop?

We even have one post linking brexit in and its only page 2?

Her and her government could condem attacks on school buses and hospitals and if wanted suggest sanctions on the Saudis but then as UAE and others are also involved so they would also have to be included.

The government could award contracts to BAe and others and encourage a shift from building war machines to other aspects of their expertese like trains for the franchises and make any rail franchise awarded dependamt on using british made equiptment for example.

The government could stop the sanctionioning of the sales of war machines to states with a dodgy record on human rights.

Or course it is political as the government of the day has an international duty to condem masacaring children wherever.

So May can be dragged into the thread as PM, but I agree mentioning jezza opened it up to a left v right bun fight so best to just stop the party political side and critisize the government not for who they but what they are not doing

Congratulations to the fucking idiots who have managed to turn this into a political thread about which fucking politician hasn't condemned atrocities. To be honest, I always think they're talking shite anyway. Who gives a fuck if May or Corbyn come out and say the fucking obvious - "I wholeheartedly condemn this attack"......so fucking what?

Ok I had my opinion on government inaction, as have others let's leave our domestic slant on it to one side now and just discuss the situation instead

Attacks on economic targets have become more frequent in Yemen in recent months.

Last week, there was an attack on a fish market in the port city of Hodeidah, which killed at least 55 civilians and wounded 170, according to the ICRC. The city is a key point of entry for international aid supplies.

The country's infrastructure has been severely damaged in the three years of conflict between Saudi Arabia with its Sunni Muslim allies and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Previous airstrikes have hit water supplies, further endangering a population facing a cholera epidemic.

More than 22.2 million people in the impoverished country on the tip of the Arabian Peninsula are in need of assistance, in what has become the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

Surely the UN need to make this a priority now and urge a cease fire and some kind of real dialogue chaired by someone with no vested interest maybe a south american or SEA ambassador father than usual securitt council members, this cannot continue.

It is horrific what is going on

Very sad but the Iranians who are backing the rebels are probably the most dangerous Country in the Middle East, their stated objective of "eliminating" Israel is one that has to be taken seriously. To let them expand into the Arab world without action being taken would be a disaster, the collateral damage is heartbreaking especially when it involves innocent children. I can't watch news footage of that, it's too upsetting.

How can this not be political ?

The British Government is a key enabler of the Saudi regime in this war.

It facilitates arm sales and provides training and back up to the Saudi military. We are knee deep in this shit.

Don’t expect to see this covered in any depth on the BBC.

Iran has been made into this because of again interferance in the 50s to the 70s proping up the shah leading to the revolution that formed present day Iran.

Iran after WW2 was a free thinking nation with the wealth and resources.to have been a shining example to the gulf unfortunately Mohammad Mosaddegh even though appointed not elected was a little bit socialist for some and worried about soviet influence coming in.

Iran still has that strong urge for a return to a free willed democratic and tolerant nation by many Iranian but while the religous leaders hold power it won't happen dialogue was helping but were seem back to sqaure one and these proxy wars between Iran and the Saudis will continue
