So other fans dont matter? Thats what your saying. I got sorted with a ticket like I said, I had a home end one in the first place anyway I got from a contact but then rang Burnley to see if I could swap it like I did at Blackburn first game. Did you go yesterday? Do you ever go at all? If so then why bother commenting on the thread, if not then does it not piss you off that it was "sold out" but in fact wasnt? And as I said where did I slag the club? Your quote just repeats the above, not once have I slagged them. But just to make you happy I do think they have let some fans down with this issue dont you?

The whole point of your post was to slag the club off!!

So don't try and make out otherwise!!

Of course you got sorted so nothing else matters!!

So why ask other people to forward your screen name to the club, when you can do that yourself?

Nope!! Didn't go, so that must make me an armchair fan in your view!!

Although, I am a season ticket holder!!

Again I didnt say that did I? I said if you didnt go then dont you find it bad that you could of if you had wanted to dispite the club "selling out" weeks ago? If you did go then why comment? That was all I was saying. As for my op, do you not see it as one blue letting others know that in future they may get tickets from the away teams ticket office rather than slaggin off the club I have supported for 32 years? Thats what the aim was not to slag them off. I do think it's not on thought that this has happened. I wasnt looking for a row with anyone. I said people could give my user name for the following reason:
Someone rings up the club and complains and the club say it had sold out, they can then say I managed to get a ticket etc. The club want to know how and why... The rest is simple. I have no reason to contact them as I now know how to look for away tickets and due to my op so do many other blues. Think before you start moaning about.... Me "moaning".

-- Sun Apr 04, 2010 8:05 pm --

Knob? Lol, ok. Night night Mad Zab you do know you're not at school tomorrow dont you it's a bank holiday! Funny how know one else has had the same opinion as you.

It would be very good to know why why the T-O said that this game was sold out and then returns were made to Burnley and as has been said I believe that it is because the number of tickets allocated to the "corporates" werent sold, and some that had already paid and bought their tickets (and loyalty points) decided that a trip to turf mour wasnt worth a divorce but still wanted to keep their points.
Weekend away trips within the Greater Manchester area are always a top seller and i cannot understand why we didint sell out unless the club thought that there would be a greater than normal uptake from the corporates.

I doubt there were loads left, the only spaces in the away end were due to the water coming through the roof.

if a person has 25 tickets in one hand then that could be considered "loads left"

sorry to bluemoon for posting a bad taste note,re peter swales and thankyou for not posting it,

How much is "loads"? I dont know but it was Burnleys words not mine so....? Still 25 tickets returned would still have meant 25 extra blues could have gone. Someone else said on the first page that they turned up and got a ticket too.

I tried to get tickets for the Burnley game last week but couldnt as it was "sold out". However, I managed to get two tickets in the Burnley end (oposite the City fans) from a client of my old man's. On the way down we thought fuck it lets ring Burnley and see if we can be moved to the away end.... We rang and they said not a problem as they had some returns from City but wouldnt be getting them until 3.30pm when the club arrived so ring back then. We got to the ground and went into the ticket office to speak to the woman we had spoken to on the phone, and she changed our tickets without a problem. She even said "if you see any other City fans who want City end tickets then send them in as we have loads".
Now a huge thank you to the Burnley staff who were great with us yesterday and didnt have to help, they were fantastic with us from start to finish and did their club proud. But my question is to City, how come you "sell out" yet send tickets back? I managed to get two tickets in the away end on the front row just right of the goal as you looked onto the pitch, and had a great day with my fellow blues. It took Burnley to help me out, who also pointed out that they knew Thursday that you would be sending tickets back to them! It doesnt make sense at all.
Thanks again to Burnley for your help, conceeding 6 goals and giving us three points.

you have been misled, city did not send any tickets back, we were given just short of 2.5k, they all sold out.
the tickets you bought were "burnley spares". they had kept a dozen or so tickets back in case of mishaps, maybe a friend of the club turns up, the owners wife's sisters cousin or whoever arrives unannounced, even opposition fans are may be catered for this way, in essence they are spare seats that the club switched to our end to accomodate you.
city had nothing to do with those tickets and none were sent from our club.

Fair enough but when we rang they said they couldnt issue any tickets until City's coach had arrived as they were returning tickets. If what you say is correct then why did they have to wait for City to arrive? Not saying your wrong I just dont understand why they would say that? Hope your right but I'm not so sure tbh.

can't see that being the case, my guess is they held tickets back in case city turned up needing a couple of freemans.
i would imagine the ticket office would want to sell any tickets they had and fill the place with blues.

If they did come from City, and there's no reason to disbelieve the Burnley staff, its likely they were tickets allocated to players/officials friends and family.

Our ticket office get some stick (rightly so on occasions), but there would be no point them telling everyone they were sold out if they weren't. If players/officials didn't take them, then its quite possible City wouldn't know until Saturday, too late to let supporters know.

I kid you not that was exactly what their ticket office told us on the phone and again when we got to the ground. We waited for our team to arrive then poped in to change our tickets, we had to wait 15mins though as they had not come into the ticket office yet. We poped to the pub over the road then went back and changed them for away end ones. Thats when the woman (Elaine, ticket office manager at Burnley) said to let any other City fans wanting City end tickets know that she had "loads" available. Either way as my original post suggests, always try the other clubs ticket office when we have supposedly sold out. I guess if what your saying is true then it backs up my point that tickets always remain at either club, meaning some fans will always miss out unless they know to check at both ends. But as I say, Burnley's words were that City were sending some back and they had been expecting them since Thursday.

-- Sun Apr 04, 2010 9:53 pm --

This would make sense although Burnley knew about the returning ticket on Thursday (so the ticket office manager told us). However my post was more about the availability rather than calling the club, it just didnt add up. Burnley were great and really helpful tbf.
