Why would someone ever forget about having anti-semitic opinions?

And again, you assume that because, so far, i've not posted on a Bluemoon thread about the topic?
He might remember having them but forgot he was stupid enough to write them on SM. It doesn't excuse him in any way but I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility.

We'll never know for sure, will we. All we have is his word.

You might as well ask why would anyone forget anything.
I might not remember the specific individual comments, but i'd remember ever holding such opinions, and then when given the opportunity, bringing them to light in the appropriate discussion. He could have, but didn't. Not until others had to 'remind' him.

So your position is that Azeem Rafiq should have said on Tuesday, "Listen up everyone, I might have briefly had some anti-semitic opinions when I was a teenager before I learned to know better. I don't have them now, but just in case I might have written them down somewhere I thought you should all know".

That's your argument.

And we all know you don't believe it for one second.

The man has said from the start that he's made a lot of mistakes himself. I believe he said that in the very first sit down interview which broke the story. No one is expected to stand up and reveal every mistake or bad thing they've ever done before whistleblowing on an organisation.

I imagine this will rumble on for some time, he’s now apologised for an Instagram meme he shared with a saying linked to African people.

The ridiculousness of the battle ground that is social media knows no bounds these days.

Pathetic.

Yes, i do believe that he should have highlighted that once he held racist views of an entire group of people himself. That's why I am critical of him. Before today we didn't know he held such views on Jewish people and in a conversation about institutional racism in sport, he forgot to state that he also held such views. It wouldn't have hurt his testimonies or the accusations of those who had abused him personally.

But to only make a statement after others found evidence of him holding similar racist opinions of others, in a discussion about racist behaviour, makes people ask the legitimate question, "why only now"?

But you go ahead and deny my experiences and why I believe what I do. I've experienced this many times, first hand. I empathised with him, only to discover he was capable of doing it to others similar to myself at one point. It hurts, you know.

I haven't denied your experiences. There you go with the lies again.

No one has mentioned your experiences at all, no one mentioned why you believe anything. I've said I don't believe you actually hold the view that every whistle blower should search through their memory and publicly disclose every bad opinion or prejudice they've had before reporting something.

I'll come back when you're capable of discussing this without derailing it by lying about what I've said.

My experiences are what lead me to hold this opinion of him and to be as critical of him as I have. So yes, as I said, I DO believe what I believe and you have no right to claim otherwise.

Third time now you've accused me of "lying". It seems your "go to" comment when you've been backed into a corner. Here's a tip, in future just say "fair enough" and then stop replying.

You look less of a tit that way.
