Young Boys (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

A decent run-out and a good result.

It was frustrating at times, but we got the job done and kept most of the "big" names out of harm’s way for our trip to Trafford on Sunday.

I thought Jack and Dave were both very good, but I voted for Rico as MotM. The lad was outstanding throughout, and is (hopefully) going to be some player.

It was great to see Erling back on the scoresheet. It will do his confidence no harm, and just in time for Sunday, too.

Now we’re on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages again. What a great time it is to be a Blue.

We played some shite tonight, and still should have won 6-1, Nunes looked like a league 2 player, and Kovacic wasn't much better for me.

Haaland missed too many (again), yet scored the most difficult.

Some bollcks talked about the pitch, but WE made it look more difficult than it needed to be.
Some bollocks talked about Nunes and Kovacic too

some good performances - Rico, Rodri, Alvarez,Bernardo, Ake, Akanji, Dias.

Some not so good - Kovacic especially and Nunes - first time they have played together however but both are not upto speed at present and both need to start adding goals and creativity as they are the replacements for Gundo and we are missing his contribution in these areas. Grealish still getting up to speed due to limited appearances but again he needs to do that quickly.

Overall a comfortable win against an average side in very poor conditions (pitch and weather) - no injures which is an added bonus and a couple of key players rested.

The bobble of the ball on the artificial pitch didn't help us at all. That said we misfired all night as we have done for weeks.
In midfield, Kovacic disapointed, Nunes was shocking.
Grealish, Rodri and Lewus played well - though Grealish was lucky not to give a pen away (probably the untrue bounce was taken into account).

Another great result: No injuries reported. When we click into gear we will be brilliant.
Replacing Gundo (who along with Rodri was a lot of the glue that stuck our side together) and no KDB is a HUGE double impact. If we can be top 3 in the league by the end of the year and top of our CL group, hopefully with KDB back we’ll have done really well. Need to negotiate these tricky upcoming fixtures (after the rags of course)
