Don't make the same mistake I did a few moons ago when visiting Basel thinking my Euros would be useful only to realise too late the currency used is Swiss Francs...doh!

Also for those making the journey to Bern there's no free EU mobile network roaming so it will be a similar job as Istanbul, so don't get stung with a large international roaming mobile bill.

Spoke to the ticket office today and they told me they're sending them out Thursday.

They didn’t accept Euros back then but perhaps times have changed.

No harm in bringing some along but Swiss Francs will be the preferred currency.

More places than not will take Euros but I imagine they’ll be giving you the worst exchange rate.

Much better taking Swiss Francs if you’re wanting to use cash.
