Your Fav. Breed Of Dog?

Evil Harry

I've got a 13 month old Chocolate Lab, Fudge, mad as bat shit, very very clever but no common sense what so ever, runs into trees, doors, all sorts.

I'm not just saying this as he is my dog but I don't think I have ever met a more playful, friendly, hyper dog....if he was a kid he would have been taken to see a doctor, he is mental....yet ace at the same time!!

I have a Golden Lab that I'm sure has some form of sleeping sickness as he in out of it for at least 20 hours a day.

Would like to get an Irish Wolfhound but my missus would kill me.

We have the exact opposite, he is asleep for 4-5 hours a day max!!

I have a feeling that my wife has ruined him. He has his own sofa for f***s sake. He get all the top food on the market.

However, he is a fantastic mutt and awesome with kids, to the point where people we know will bring their nippers round to stop them from being afraid of dogs.

Yeah he is amazing with kids, he is a big dog tho, hasn't stopped growing either, with him still being a puppy he is always hyper and people can be dead hesitant if they see him running towards them, like the other night we went sledging and he would run down the hill next to anyone sledging and the odd kid would scream but he only runs next to them, wouldn't touch them!!

How did I miss this thread?! Anyone got a Dobermann? The mrs is desparate for one. I already have a 5 year old mongrel, but the mrs wants something which 'is ours', (WTF?!). We both like Dobermann's but with 3 kids in the house, are they safe?

I don't have a Doberman but reguarly walk with a couple that does, there kid has Down Syndrome and they have had the dog since he was a pup, he is brilliant with the kid, doesn't leave his side, but not over protective and the kid is constantly pulling his tail, hugging him, putting his fingers in the dogs mouth, play fighting with him etc..

(the kid was 4 when they got the dog)

Hmm, interesting. I know a girl who has 2 of them and has 4 kids in the house. I think they're fantastic looking beasts, dobermanns. Might have to do a bit of saving and get one when summer kicks in. Nice one pal.
