Your first City match?

September 1978 we won 3-0 (I think). I always thought we played Birmingham but I've read it was Leeds in one of Gary James' book.

Carlisle at home 1985 lost 3-1 typical city!! david phillips scored a 25yrd screamer into platt lane & i was right in front of it,won goal of the month & i was on motd? for rest of season celebrating!!!

It may have only been the reserves at Maine Road, but for me it was like finally getting to Wembley - i'd waited to get to Maine Road forever (or so it felt when i was 10 in 1985!).

So yes, my first match was city beating villa 2-0 in the central league November 1985 :)

Been going since the late seventies but my first really good memory of a whole game was the 1981 FA Cup semi final versus Ipswich at Villa Park. After PP scored in extra time Im absolutely convinced that last 20 minutes lasted about 3 hours!

This for me as well, started going in 78 when turned 16 and earned my first wage of £15 but this is also the first game I remember vividly

I was that at that game remember lots of snow and loads of games off so I took some mates who supported Arsenal as they had been to Liverpool and their game was called off

January 1964, Dad took me and our kid for my 8th birthday. Beat Grimsby 4/2 sat first row in Maine Stand. Unfortunately don't remember much of the game but caught the bug.

Plymouth away. Saturday, 16/1/88.

2-0 up at half-time. Lost 2-3 and all goals scored in the opposite end to where we were standing.

Typical City!

First game at Maine Road was a 1-0 victory over Everton on the day we held a minute's silence for Sir Joe, which was ruined by a few idiots in the Toffees' end.

We won 1-0 with that rarest of things, an Adrian fucking Heath goal.
