Your first City match?

8 March 1969. Beat The Rags 1-0 at the Swamp. Buzzer scored.
1974 League Cup Final with my dad and grandad. Dominated the game, bastard stand in keeper saved everything, John Richards stole a travesty of a winner with 5 minutes left, and the 9 year old version of me went home in tears. Character building!

Home to Arsenal October 1974, night game. Wasn't really bothered about football at the time, but if asked would say i was a blue. School mates were mostly blues and pestered me to go with them.
Arsenal scored first, Tueart equalised and was then injured scoring another as we won 2-1. Dennis was carried off after his second -what a hero, and I went home singing about Dennis Chewit! Totally blown away by the atmosphere on the Kippax, was back the following Saturday and been a regular ever since.

At home to the rags Sept 1967. 8 years old, sat on a barrier in the old scoreboard end. Just shy of 63000 there that day.
Colin Bell scored to put us 1 up iirc, Charlton scored twice to win the game, hated ‘em from that day..... as my late Dad used to say, if they were playing in our garden I’d shut the f***in’ curtains!

November 1972 ... derby game at Maine road with city and United bottom two in the league ... sat in the Platt lane stand with mate who had got us tickets... city won 3-0 ... coach parked on kippax st car park and rags bricked the coaches

Ah yes, but you must have been consoled by the result of the return game. ;-)

I used to nag my dad to take me to see Stanley Mathews after watching him in the 1953 cup Final, first time back in Manchester was at O Trafford 21/11/ 1953,my dad being a blue, took me to Maine Road to see City play WBA,a 3-2 defeat,so yes I,m a glory-hunter and I,ve brought up my daughters as blues, just sorry my dad isn’t,t around now to see HIS team “ruining football”.
