Chris Sievey definitely on the list! Dunno his affiliation to JCC. My mate's dad ran Rabid Records (JCC, Slaughter and the Dogs, Jilted John, Ed banger and the Nosebleeds and more) in Withington when I was young. Also Factory's first office was in Withington. Used to see em all all hangin around. Great days.Would have to put Chris Sievey (Frank Sidebottom) on there as well with that bunch. Didn't he do all the accompanying music for JCC? He was a really talented musician and did some great songs off his own back.
You did. Humble apologies. I was never much good at speed reading.Yes mate. I mentioned Bee Gees didn't I?
*Guilty gulp: /
The Ruthless Rap Assassins won't get a mention. There are absolutely loads mate. Groups like Cotton Club will never get a mention but they made loads of tunes that got hammered in the clubs. Groups like Ruthless Rap Assassins, Alfie and Sub Sub made quality tunes.
Out of all the bands mentioned, I will never know how Puressence and The Chameleons were not huge.
Edit - Got to add Electronic to the list. Manc super group with one top album and 2 pretty good follow ups.
The New Fads and James in a top 5 that doesn't mention The Smiths. Are you on crack? As title says. You can include bands and solo artists from Gtr Manchester.
Here's a list of our more famous artists. Quite an impressive list, second only to London in amount of artists from one city.

I like quite a lot the Smiths and Morrissey stuff. He's a brilliant lyricist IMO. It's just that I find some of the tracks and his dreary voice depressing and mundane. A bit like eating porridge everyday with a razer blade in my hand. The Ruthless Rap Assassins won't get a mention.
