Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

If he goes, it will surely be under circumstances where he will always be welcome back. Either any home game - or for his induction into the City Hall of Fame. (Have we not inducted anyone since Uwe in 2009?)

Zaba can still play two years at this level here. He just need some fitness and good pre season under pep.

It was injury riddled yes but he was never the quickest. Great stamina though . Hopefully he can return to form. I'm not sure how you let a player go in a better manner. If he wants regular first team football and we maybe can't promise that.

If that's the case maybe pep can offer him the role of cup captain. Its obvious this season the LC and possibly the FA cup will be used to blood talented EDS players. With Zabba the old hand at the back encouraging them?

I'd love to see him stay and the club offer him a coaching role. He could be our own pep in 10 years time.

One of my favourite ever players but I hope he does leave, I don't like to see him get rinsed week in week out.

The bottom line is with squad size restrictions we cannot keep just signing players and not moving some on. Zabs is a true City hero but probably needs a less fast and physical league to be a first team regular.
