Zinchenko Signed (official)

Good article on him here:

Interesting.

This profile feels like the author knows more about him than most of the hastily knocked up things I've seen today and seems to think he could be a central midfielder - which ties in with the ESPN articles description of his idols being Fabregas and his game resembling Xavi, or Silva according to the justfootball piece.

I wonder if we could see him in midfield - it does feel like we are a player short, and his highlight videos show a good eye for a pass, keeping hold of the ball under pressure and moving the ball around - but also beating a man and carrying the ball forwards - something out midfield hasn't really had since Yaya's peak in 2014 and we've sorely missed in my opinion.

He looks slight, but Russia isn't exactly a soft league and he's clearly good enough defensively to help out at LB.

Looking forward to seeing him, where ever he ends up.

Downloaded the Poland-Ukraine match so I could check him out and he was very impressive. The two announcers were gushing over him.

I'm sure most had heard of Douglas Costa, he wasn't a relative unknown at Shaktar and a 80+ rated FIFA player in FIFA 15
Gundogan and Nolito are both regular starters for two of the best international teams in the world too. Like Costa, they're not unknowns, they're just not world stars and household names. I'm fine with that. As for Zinchenko, how many times have people said that we should be competing with Dortmund for these more obscure players earlier in their careers, rather than letting them buy them and then trying to get them later when they cost 10 times the price?

Could Pep be thinking about him playing LB maybe? Hopefully we get to see him some more in our pre season games.

Yeah I hope Zinchenko sets the house on fire, was jousting point out that Costa was far from an unknown.

In Pep we trust, I just hope Tziki is semi purine the players Pep is after

Those comments from his agent seem a bit weird. They do think that he will be staying at the club. If thats the case I can only think of him being what Kimmich was to Bayern last season? No idea why the club havn't said anything about him except that one statement.

I think under Manuel we have to grown used to a flat refusal in respect of using younger players. This transfer really interests me. Coming through an academy like Pep did and looking at his managerial record with stuff like this, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he puts faith into a young kid like this, and I'm intrigued by it.
