Zinchenko Signed (official)

Given Pep's history of converting players into new positions, I wouldn't be surprised if Zinchenko was brought in as a left wing-back. He's known as an intelligent, versatile player who's had success in positions across the midfield as well as left-back already. Seeing as Pep's systems usually require the wing backs to be attacking threats, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Zinchenko make the types of overlapping runs we're used to seeing from Kolarov.

As an option on either wing and at left wing-back, I'm pretty pleased with this signing - gives us more depth in a number of positions.

Manchester City have signed 19-year-old Ukraine midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko from FC Ufa.

The teenager played for Ukraine at Euro 2016, featuring in all three group games before his country's elimination.

Ukraine failed to score a goal in Group C as they lost to Germany, Northern Ireland and Poland.

Zinchenko becomes City's fourth signing under new boss Pep Guardiola, following the captures of Ilkay Gundogan, Aaron Mooy and Nolito.
 
actually now I remember that the scouting bloke on the weekend said it was one of our core priorities now to snap up emerging talent between the ages of 18-21, players that aren't quite ready for us but with some first-team football out on loan would hopefully be able to become first team regulars.
