Aguer-noooooooo! Aguero hits the post against QPR and United win the league again. City immediately fire Mancini and after leaving Barcelona, Guardiola becomes manager in the summer of 2012. The club backs the new manager with a 150 million transfer splurge to build on the strong squad Mancini (and Hughes) had assembled. City win the league in 2012/13 by 20 points and follow it up with wins in 2013/14 and 2014/15, adding 2 FA Cups and 2 League Cups along the way. In May 2015 they win the Champions League trophy for the first time. Having achieved all his goals within the three years of his contract, Pep leaves to join Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015 and City hire Manuel Pellegrini. Another title follows in 2015/16 to make it four in a row, but we fall in the round of 16 in the CL and go out early in both domestic cup competitions. In 2016/17, a somewhat lacklustre City finish third in the league and fail to win anything for the first time in 5 years. A poor start to the season in 2017 leaves City in sixth place at Christmas and the club pulls the (long overdue) trigger and fires Pellegrini. In January, 2018 City hire Jose Mourinho as their new manager and immediately move up the table to 4th with a dour 1-0 win at home to Roberto Mancini's Stockport County, with new signing Fellaini scoring the winner.
