How did they calculate today's fees? Using straight inflation rates or some other magic?

Could be the Freddo bar inflation measure.
My daughter says if the minimum wage had kept pace with the rise in price of Freddo bars it would be £18 an hour.
Then again it could be magic.

I did read how they did it, I can't recall the precise mechanism, but think they use the some average cost of a premier league transfer in each season.
Incidentally I seem to recall that one of the reasons why Aguero figures so highly is that he was bought during a rare period of deflation.

Bollocks. it’s obviously inversely proportional to the rate of change over time of the circumference of a Wagon Wheel.

A simplistic way of calculating the inflation rate of the PL would be to compare the average of say, the first 3 years of season ticket prices at the beginning against the average cost now. Some of you old timers should remember what it used to cost.
