Only real positive for me tonight was Vinny reminding me of what a good centre back looks like. His passing was no worse than Stones and his actual defending was miles ahead of anything I've seen from our £50m man. I'd rather watch Vinny out there in a wheelchair, playing at the back on his own as opposed to the shite I've had to watch all season.

Had the exact feeling. His experience really showed. If only he can be aged back a few years younger.

Although i winced a few times, it was great to see him throwing himself into challenges. Really enjoyed the tussle with Costa.

His passing was generally great, wasn't sure about positioning for first goal but very good throughout the rest of the game

Showed everyone how to defend tonight...completely bullied costa off the park. Great passing as well

If fit enough he should play most of the games till the end of the season....

It was his first game in god knows how long and he played better than any other city defender has all season........

Lets se if he can get a run of games......im guessing he will need to be managed back through this as he has been out for so long its quite common for players returning from such long lay offs to get small injuries on returning.

Played well enough. Be a boost to have him back just for his leadership, although I'm not holding my breath - let's see how he holds up the next few weeks.

Hopefully we can start to see a back 3 until the end of the season and just scrap playing full backs all together.

I think Pep dropped a big bollock not bringing him back sooner. I think if he'd played him in Monaco or even brought him on as a sub at 6-5 we'd still be in the CL, he implied the same himself in one of his interviews. Instead we had Kolarov at CB whose barely played since.

Perhaps, but it could also be seen as quite a big risk, imagine if he gets injured 10 minutes into the Monaco game? Thought it was fairly risky even putting him in for this game as his comeback match.

Let's just hope he gets us motivated enough to sort out top 4 & take the FA Cup, then we'll all be happy enough.

Same as Yaya, feels like we are seeing the last of 2 great players.
Really impressed tonight.

The first goal was nothing on him. He was in the position he should be in coveringen the first post in line with the rest of his defence. Fernandinho should have been much closer to Hazard.

Interesting view, I doubt Otamendi would have gotten the same response had he been in that position.

But I digress, good to see him last the whole game.

Think we can forgive him a bit of ring rust Dax.

He was excellent. To come in after so long out, and play as well as he did, in such a big game, is testimony to just how good he is.

Otamendi wouldn't have been in that position, he would have been on his arse somewhere 40 yards from goal.

My view would have been exactly the same as he was in the position Pep has told him to be at.

Haha made me laugh
