Palace - Post Match Thread

Not see any of it as I was in work but I did manage to listen to it on the radio for the first time in years and wish I hadn't.
It was Alan Green and Danny Mills and my god they had a downer on us all game. All they talked about was how poor Palace were and how wasteful we were. Didn't realize how good we were until I had a chance to read about it on here

Sergio take your pick for the next game if your back from injury ...

Disrespectful cünt.

+1. Every village has one.

I agree, decision making is his biggest problem but it will come. Sane also has this issue as do many young players. They will both continue to improve, the future is very, very bright.
TBH, it is like watching a Robben and Ribery before they matured, and if they turn out anything like that, we will be hoisting many a trophy in the future!

Might have this all wrong, but I think we only passed the ball back to Caballero five times in the entire game (Kompany x 2, Toure x 2, and Clichy x 1). Indeed, it seemed as if we were very deliberately keeping the ball higher up the park today and keeping it far away from the goalkeeper; in this respect, we were helped by the fact that Palace were reluctant to press from the front. However, I also noticed that Toure was dropping behind the two central defenders at times, and in the second half Kompany was dropping into a deep right-back position to act as the out ball rather than go to the keeper. Wonder if this is one off or a change to our style of play?
Good spot, and hope that's planned by Pep - should help the team manage to play with the best possible goalkeeper even he is not necessarily the best with the ball at his feet.

Good performance and played with more freedom after Komps hammerd in the 2nd. Many played well but for me Dinho stood out. Was back to his early season performances.
Now let's go on a run and win the last three left to finish 3rd.

But your picking one game to prove a point and oversimplifying to say 'Aguero does not play we score five'. I have watched us score five goals loads of times with Aguero in the team even six on occasions and seen City struggle to beat Swansea with Jesus on the pitch - What does it prove??

This kid is an exciting talent but has played against no one so far. When he starts hitting 30 goals a season, scores key goals, then we can start talking about him as a replacement for Aguero.

Personally I just find it disrespectful to the guy and all he has done for us over 5 years to talk about selling him based on the performances of a player who has started about 6 games for us against the Premietships cannon fodder. Christ even if he is the next reincarnation of Messi he could still get injured and where do we go then??He is the shiny new toy at the moment.

I completely agree. That post, more or less, sums up my thoughts

Lads put proper shift in. Crowd not bad for a twelve thirty. Happy days. Love City

City annihilated a team that have recently beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. That has been coming for awhile and is what you get when most of the team have cracking games. Plenty of MotM candidates with very little to choose between Ota, Yaya, Merlin and KDB.

De Bruyne, Silva & Kompany. Special mention to Otamendi & Caballero.

5 goals, no injuries and a clean sheet.

A good day, very good.

Oh whenever we thrash someone it's always because the opposition decided to play shit against us. It will never change.
Trust me we were fantastic, with the ball and even more so without it. We were on palace as soon as they had the ball. We controlled the game from the 1st minute till the last minute. Passing movement possession winning the ball back quickly, defensively strong it was all there. Maybe palace relaxed a little thinking they were safe but we came out strong got an early goal and it really could have been double figures.
Wonder how match of the day will spin it?

I think they could be even better! With G. Jesus in the mix as well, I am sure we'll win many trophies. Starting next year with the Premier League :)
