The battle for 3rd place

Are you sure?

Consider this scenario, United win Europa league and finish fifth, United won Leage Cup, Chelsea win FA Cup

So champions league Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, City, United
That means that the sixth, seventh and eighth teams get into Europa as winners of both cups already secured champions league
Chelsea fan.

I'm not sure this is correct. If United finish outside the top four and win the UEL, then the fifth CL place we gain comes at the expense of one of our UEL places. That's to say we would then have only two, not three, teams in next season's UEL.

Can someone tell me if rags win Europa league do they go straight into group stages of champions league or like the forth placed team face a play off to qualify ?
Based on the make up of this season's Champions League semifinals, United would go straight into the group stage if they win the UCL.

The UEL winners automatically qualify for the group stage of the following season's Champions League, unless this season's Champions League winner has failed to qualify for next season's group stage through their domestic league. If that happens, the "extra" group stage place is awarded to the Champions League winners, and the Europa League winners must go through a qualifying round.

Since all four of this season's Champions League semifinalists will gain group stage entry through their league placing, none of them will need to use the "extra" group stage place. It would therefore go to United if they win the UCL.

Effectively now we can afford to draw with Leicester and still finish above them. Great weekend so far

Two wins and a draw from our last three games should be enough to seal it given our better GD

If the rags only get a draw or worse today then we will be guaranteed third if we get seven more points
