Welcome Kyle Walker

+ Big improvement on what we had (even if not difficult)
+ Pace will help protect us from counter attacks
+ Hasn't had an injury for over 2 years
+ Weakens a rival
+ Shows Spurs are still a selling club
+ Wages seem fair.

- Ludicrous fee, if reports are true
- Not really suited to the 'false FB' role
- He's 27 and once his pace goes he will be half the player
- Not great defensively.
- Will be afforded little patience from City fans aware of his stupid, ignorant anti-City fan outburst

Will get full support but I'm pretty mixed.

Spot on all this, very good assessment for on here.

Would you not have sold him for £50mil? like calling Real Madrid a selling club for selling Di Maria for £60mil

Madrid had Bale and Ronaldo. It's not at all similar.

Poch fell out with Walker because Walker told him he wanted to leave and join City. De Gea didn't play the last few Utd games for the same reason.

You'd sell Walker, a £25mil player, for £50mil regardless

£25 million player?

Burnley just sold an average centre back to Everton for £30 million.

Walker is a team of the season player, best in the league his position and part of English football's best defence.

ADM was surplus after James joined. Walker is the best RB in the PL.

If Spurs had sold an unhappy Walker abroad that's one thing but no serious club sells the best X in the league to a direct rival.

So, no, I wouldn't have sold Walker. What's money? Football is about

He does come across really well in all the clips I've seen so far. Wasn't that excited about it yesterday, but I think he'll do well here.

Can those with their noses out of joint shut up. Wanted him or not he is a blue now and deserves to be unconditionally welcomed. I get any points about respect because that has to be earned but lets give him chance.

The £50 million is too much but what do Spurs do with it? Sign another Sissoko for £30 million and Janssen for £20 million - and that's last seasons prices. So Walker compared to what they might bring in with £50 million probably favours us.

Spurs could try to console themselves all they want but nowhere in the current market for the price they'd be prepared to pay are they getting an upgrade or an equal to Walker..Only Carvajal,Dani Alves,Valencia and Conti had better seasons than Walker.. Nelson Semedo would have been an equal to him but he's off the market now.Forget the narrative been pushed around that Ricardo Pereira is as good as Walker..Might be in future but he isn't currently.Trippier? Lol the new Ibe..If you aspire to win the league and do well in Europe then Trippier shouldn't be your starting RB.

Yeah and Keane is probably worth about £15mil

No one else in world football would pay £50mil for Walker. it's okay to over-pay you don't have to try and justify the outrageous fee, just a yeah we payed way more than his market value but we got the player we/Pep needed is all it needs to boil down to.

Well yeah, you could say that about most transfers this window.

Fees are going up all the time and will continue to do so as club's revenues increase.

He can kiss goodbye to being in Prem team of the season after signing for us

Only us Prem teams ruining it for ourselves...Ac Milan got Bonucci for £35mil when many on here were saying we should pay like £60mil for him about a month ago

I guess that is a reasonable summary but on a couple of your negatives I disagree a bit.

Genuinely fast players which he is often remain pretty fast even getting older , if he looks after himself I think he could remain fully effective for the length of his contract and still be pretty decent then, though obviously injuries may happen and its uncertain but this is true for anyone.

Defensively I think he is a much improved player and what I have seen of him he is pretty good and rarely lets his team down either with Spurs or England.

One off transfer as Bonucci had fallen out with Juventus and he was adament he wanted to stay in Italy for his family. No other itallian club has €40m to spend so Juve said yes. He is the best centre back in world football if he wanted to leave Italy Madrid/City/Chelsea etc. Would all have spent £50m plus on him.

I won't deny 50m is a ridiculous price and levy taking the piss, but spurs fans saying after 2 years in the top four consecutively him coming to aus is a step down ahows why they are still a bunch of deluded numpties.

In my opinion with the new stadium costs, spurs have probably hit their peak league wise and so any of their lot sneering should worry about themselves.

Really pleased we've got this over the line quickly. Was worried spurs might drag it out. He will need cover mind and so will mendy if that one goes through.

Welcome Kyle
