Welcome Kyle Walker

One off transfer as Bonucci had fallen out with Juventus and he was adament he wanted to stay in Italy for his family. No other itallian club has €40m to spend so Juve said yes. He is the best centre back in world football if he wanted to leave Italy Madrid/City/Chelsea etc. Would all have spent £50m plus on him.

Well they could have said no... Just Milan paying what he is worth, they've bid £70mil for Belotti not like money isn't there.

Yes Prem teams would OVERPAY..

Also Chiellini is better.

Just imagine the speed in our team if we sign Mendy as well

Walker
Mendy
Sterling
Sane
Jesus

Fucking rapid.

Vinnie, Fern, KDB no slouches either

I guess that is a reasonable summary but on a couple of your negatives I disagree a bit.

Genuinely fast players which he is often remain pretty fast even getting older , if he looks after himself I think he could remain fully effective for the length of his contract and still be pretty decent then, though obviously injuries may happen and its uncertain but this is true for anyone.

Defensively I think he is a much improved player and what I have seen of him he is pretty good and rarely lets his team down either with Spurs or England.

I wouldn't disagree with that but Walker is sooo explosive that I think it'd be quite noticeable.

I agree he has gotten better defensively but there's still a question mark there in my mind. I think he'll be an improvement even here than what we have had for the last 18 months or so

Yeah and Keane is probably worth about £15mil

No one else in world football would pay £50mil for Walker. it's okay to over-pay you don't have to try and justify the outrageous fee, just a yeah we payed way more than his market value but we got the player we/Pep needed is all it needs to boil down to.

How can you pay more than the market value? Every object has a unique value. That value is set in whatever market its sold in. That value is based on the unique properies, condition, rarity, availability but probably just as crucial what the seller is prepared to accept. In the end the market value is what said item is actually sold for.

Still think we're shirt at RB. We let two go and brought one in.

I'd be happy with Fernandinho as backup RB, would give Pep the option of an out n out modern FB in Walker and someone at home in the "False FB" role in Dinho. I'd also keep Maffeo at the club at least until Jan to cover Dinho if/when he's needed in DM
Spending money on a commanding CB is more urgent than a backup RB imo. We can have as many new FBs in the squad as we want but if Kompany doesn't stay fit I worry

Am I correct in thinking thats the first time we have seen the inside of any player having a medical ?
My missus was surprised at that, and how in depth it was, but when you're spending £50m, you wanrt to make sure it's sound.

Also, seems plenty on here saying about us signing Spurs' "2nd choice RB" - let's face facts, in a different world, we'd have kept Trippier ourselves and had a decent enough RB for free, but let's not kid ourselves, Walker only became 2nd choice when it was obvious he had been sounded out by other clubs.

Walker is fucking miles better than Trippier, and deep down every bitter Spurs fan and the rag/cockney media know it, whatever bollocks they make up in their tabloid shite.

It'll be evident this season now how in the media he goes from England's best RB to overrated/can't cross/past his best.
