33 Appearances, 5 goals, 4 assists.
Compare this to De Bruyne, Hazard, and probably at least half a dozen others, and that makes for
an underwhelming season, to say the least, but I agree that he's had some amazing haircuts.

Fuck me, that's pretty piss poor side. Costing around £410 million.

I guess they'll likely replace Carrick with either Matic or Dier. So that will pop the cost up to around £440 million for a piss poor side.

TBF if we're looking at that team for players who could be in a quality side, then DeGea is a good keeper, Bailly looks like he's becoming a decent centre half and there's a proper player in Mhykitarian

As for the rest....Meh!

Do I see that team making great strides in the prem? ...........Nope

I think Mhykitarian is a great player. He'd be exceptional for us or Arsenal. Under PEG, he's forced into some sort of hard working winger, a player he certainly isn't...

Just sums them up perfectly, preferential treatment from officials with refs too spineless to uphold the rules of the game. Last year was so uneven and biased with decisions yet they still fucked up, this season I think will be unbearable as the powers to be will do everything to ensure they remain relevant
 
Last season the FA sent me a copy of correspondence from FIFA that said the practice of letting players be replaced rather than sent off in pre season games was to stop immediatly. The jist of it was that as it was not in the laws of the game then it should not be allowed pre season. Any ref caught doing this would run the risk of suspension. It also said that all sendings off & yellow cards should be reported to the appropriate authority for the team concerned and a ban would be imposed at the beginning of the season. Wonder how long of a ban he will get. I will not be holding my breath.

Two things:
It's a friendly, and it's not unknown for the ref to have a word with the manager.
Second, that's Simon Stone's sepia-tinted attempt at something charming. Unfortunately, he's just a hack.

The scum is everywhere. That being said, I'd wager if you actually decided to engage any of them in conversation regarding football or the team they are "fans" of you'd be surprised (or maybe not) how ill-informed many of them are.

I'd guess you'd find more than one "mountain West" rag that still thinks Rooney is not only still a rag player but an integral part of the team. It would also not surprise me if one told you they are contenders to win the next World Cup.

It's like this, being a rag in the States is easy. It's cool to be a football fan and wearing a rag shirt lets you fit in with the crowd. It's similar to the people wearing a Che Guevera shirt. They just know other people wear them and it's popular. Beyond that, they know nothing.

More shocking is the revelation that the FA have amended the rules about sending's off in friendly's.

"Valencia will not serve a suspension as the Football Association now only take action in the most serious cases".

"In 2006, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney were both banned for three games after being sent off in the same pre-season game in Amsterdam but the FA have since amended their regulations".
 
Mr Football came over to me earlier with his phone in his hand to show me a picture of his son with PEG.

It's similar to someone over here wearing a Chicago Bulls top, or NY Yankees cap... 99.9% of them probably wouldn't actually know what sports they played, let alone any of their players etc.
