We have already suffered from this thinking though(see fullbacks) Jesus looks like he is going to be a worldly and Sergio is Sergio we don't need another striker at the gamble of vinny not missing games. Stones couldn't even get in the team for large parts.

I'm with you mostly bud. You just don't pass up on kylian. Simple as that. You can't just throw away yaya and dinho either. Stones / Vinny / and Nico is a very formidable CB with a cheap fourth incoming. I'm not sure what your issue is really? We're taking a gamble that Danilo can cover LB and resigning yaya killed the chance of a DM coming.

I cannot say stones and nico is formidable and it's taking a large leap,of faith with Vinny. It's seems strange that we have Sergio and Jesus but feel the need for another striker but aren't concerned about a off form young cb, a great but injury prone Vinny plus a hit and miss otamendi. If we need 3 world class strikers why don't we need 1 one proven world class defender who isn't prone to injury?

It is a leap of faith, I agree. Formidable was maybe a poor word choice although Nico and Vinny looked formidable towards the end of the year. I think the issue is there isn't a world class defender Availavle ? and we aren't ready to give up on the stones / Vinny partnership yet (Nico as cover and 4th incoming). I think Mbappe is more of a left inside forward anyway instead of an out and out striker with sane/Raz/Mbappe/Jesus/kun fighting for three spots. There isn't a single issue there for me. I dunno bud neither you or I or running the show but I'm totally fine with the risks we're taking.

We will steamroller plenty of teams next year it's those games against the best I worry about. The games we have recent history of having problems with, you know the ones where post match every fucker whinges about our defense.

I'm not sure about that. It appears Sanchez is doing more than we could have reasonably asked already turning down PSG and Bayern.

It could be getting to the stage where Arsenal realise that Sanchez is either going to City now for 50 million or for free next year. City could give Sanchez 10 million for waiting in leu of missed wage increase.

If he did ask to go that would push the price down not up.

I just don't think Pep is that worried about central defenders. Fullbacks and keeper were improved and maybe we do go all out for a top top class CB if Mbappe a no go. My issue is that you just can't buy amazing world class cb's who sells one? I'm not going to get into a debate about it. I've made my stance clear in the Nico thread. People want to worry about it but nobody ever comes up with realistic options to buy. If they were there don't you think it would be done already?

Let's just end it here? No reason to clog the thread. I'll finish by saying I get your concerns but I'm afraid what you want to happen just isn't going to be cleared up until next year.

He could, perhaps will occasionally, but I don't see it happening too often. If we're going to play 3 at the back then Mendy is the obvious candidate to play left wing back. If we play him at CB we lose a lot of what he brings to the team. If we play him at CB we then need a left wing back which would probably have to be Sane. Again, that would detract from his game. We would be shoe horning two players into a system and reducing their effectiveness in the process.
