Give over, it was completely different. We were just about to announce Laporte was "done" and he changed his mind at literally the last second.I recall at the time he strung us along and along until Barca eventually made their move.
Don't get me wrong, I want him here, but in fairness Laporte wasn't much different, just that he chose to stay put.

Nobody will think that. The only reason they will agree to sell is they've gone 800 mil over on their stadium.
That seems to go exactly against what Levy did with the Modric and Bale sales.
Find that hard to believe. Not a chance we chose to target Carvalho instead of this guy. If he's said no that doesn't mean we never wanted him. He's been mentioned by ITKs all summer.Was never a target.

He went to Barca who had Pep though!How so? We're balls deep for Sanchez, who did just that before heading to Barca.
Sounds like Pep doesn't like to go for players who are not sure they want to play for him?

Maybe with Fabinho there was just a ceiling on how many of their players they were prepared to let us go for, we decided Silva and Mendy were the ones we wanted most and then should the chance arise, Mbappe.

He's never been a target this season. The list of players (2 per position) was decided in Feb.

I read somewhere a while ago that we wanted 2 from the the 3 of Silva, Mendy and Fabinho.
