How are we with affording it?

We made a £20 million profit 15/16 with a smaller transfer spend but that was before the new tv deals came into play.

Sane (21), Mbappe (18), Jesus (20)
B. Silva (22), De Bruyne (26)
Gundogan (26)
Mendy (22), Stones (23), Kompany (31), Walker (27)
Ederson (23)

I see!

They won't want Kun's wages.

Most likely for me, if we are in for both Mbappe and Alexis, is Aguero to Real and Benzema to Arsenal. Monaco to find replacements from smaller European or South American leagues, as seems to be their MO.

'They won't want Kun's wages'. They won't have to worry about that, this is City we are talking about........

In all seriousness, I can't see this happening and I don't really want it to. 160mil after 1 good season is madness and nudging Aguero out of the back door does not sit well with me

I think this is more of a kick up the arse to Sanchez and Arsenal I.e get a move on because if you don't, we are more than happy to get the big bucks out for someone else

Sanchez is my preferred option

Can't see this happening for several reasons. Madrid over Manchester, Zidane over Pep, huge stadium over half the seize, famous history over not so famous history, etc. It's (non)sense.

Looking purely from the players perspective, his chance of more playing time is at Real. Unless we sell Aguero. Real sold Morate and loaned James. And selling Aguero for getting Mbappe in would be as much a risk as paying the fees that are whispered.

Nope. Can't see this happening. In fact I would raise my eyebrows for a few days if he chooses us over them.

To me at this moment it's a non story that perfectly fits the upcoming friendly. We've seen this before. Whatever the outcome, it will be labelled ' crazy' whether it's the market or not.

Dom McGuinness just said on talk shite, the word from city is that this deal is false and they believe it's just a bargaining tool to up the price, city believe he's off to Madrid, end of...

But Pep didn't categorically deny an approach in his press conference. Although it won't be the first time that we'll have been used to up the price

If Mbappe is el fenomeno reborn he will be worth every penny. The best clubs in the world need legendary players.

Think that was just for there customer base so they don't switch off and go back to their comfort blanket.

A few have reported this now. City seemed to have briefed "no bid", But no one seems to know where this LA journos information has originated, but seemingly not from the club. Let's get try and get Sanchez and call it quits.

We've obviously been speaking to Monaco a lot in the last few months. They could have asked if they can leak a bid by us on Mbappe to increase the price/ ward of Madrid.

It seems Madrid's trump card is Zidane and ours is Pep. Wonder how much impact the signing of Mendy (one his best mates) could make.

Mbappe, Jesus and Sane.

I refuse to get giddy, but my word.

That line up isn't even half as good as Sanchez Aguero Jesus. That blows it out of the water. Maybe in 5 years it would be as good.

Thinking again as Real are also in LA, the city ghost bid brief has probably come from them (they've also said that they would need to sell). Possibly done to get the rags moving with a bid for Bale?

Same reason they needed to borrow money from us for their stadium?

They didn't. They borrowed money for their stadium work from the finance market, which just happened to come from the same fund that owns us. And borrowing money long term for large scale projects is very different from the operating expenses of running a club, including buying players for a net spend of about £60m.

Exactly, neither Sanchez or mbappe are better players than our kun, could argue they're at the same level. We'd just be kicking a very loyal and great player who made history for us out for a shiny new toy.

Sanchez is a different player to Kun. Aguero is a better goalscorer/finisher whereas Sanchez gives you more in build up play. Mbappe is not currently better than Kun but will be in a year or two. We have to make tough decisions to keep progressing even though I would still be devastated if Kun was to leave.

I think Madrid are still favourites to get him, but our interest in clearly genuine. And I don't think Aguero would leave this summer, even if we did get him.
