I'm absolutely certain that before City put in a formal, public bid for Raheem they had ascertained in a very discreet way that Liverpool were resigned to his going. This doesn't appear to be the case here, although when you think how vigorously it was denied that KDB was leaving, almost right up to the moment when he actually arrived (and don't forget that the season had already started), everything seems to me to be still open. This could go right to the wire. FWIW, Sam Lee has been very bullish about this one since the start of the summer. Even without Alexis Sanchez, this has been a terrific window. If we were to get Mbappé instead, I think I would fall onto my arse in the street. Either way, and without either, I'm still more than happy, although as I've said in earlier posts, I'm much more anxious about centre half cover.
 
Forgive me if this has already been raised but could City v PSG in terms of competing for players this transfer window be part of the proxy war between the UAE and Qatar (for those unaware, the UAE cut of diplomatic relations with Qatar in June this year expelling their ambassadors)?

I dont think its the case of who's got the biggest bank balance tbh..
 
So stay at Arsenal or move to City. Until he moves or window closes Sanchez is doing his bit bar putting transfer request in.

Seems to have gone quiet on Arsenal incomings.

Time will tell but I hope he signs for us. Would add lots including mentor to our younger players.
 
Citywatch reporting that we may be willing to wait for Sanchez and get him next summer for free instead. Mr Hairdoo said its now or never for him a few days ago! Like some on here advocate, you may as well just take no notice until the OS show us someone being unveiled.

Makes a lot of sense really, we will pay 50-60m this year but next year on a free is a complete no no.

28/29 as opposed to 29/30, I don't think we'd go for him next summer to be honest. I reckon we'll have moved on to other, younger targets.
Or maybe if Mbappe comes, it will be evident we don't need him next year.

Similar to what I've just posted in the Mbappe thread. Fuck this cloak and dagger shite. If we truly want him then it's time to start turning the screw and show our intent. I appreciate that's not how City do things but if you want a player as bad as we apparently want Sanchez then let's get it done or move onto the next target.
 
Think Sanchez needs to say okay I'll have to stay but no matter what you offer me I will not sign another contract. I will be off for free and what will it cost you to replace me.
