Oh great news let's give him a 5 year deal then.
Can't wait for the World Class CB. Sell Ota and keep Evans.
Worst plan ever.
Great argument why it's the worst plan ever.

Is he the first player to show allegiance to a team when growing up but sign for a rival,he's not gonna let that get in his way as if he signs it's most likely one last pay day unless he buggers off to China or the states..Jonny Evans quotes "I am a big Manchester United fan and have been all my life. All my family are huge United fans. My dad hasn’t missed a game for years at Old Trafford. He wouldn’t even miss a United match to come and watch me play at Sunderland. So it has always been a dream to play at Manchester United.
I’ve supported Manchester United all my life and it’s a great honour to be able to wear the badge of this great club.
My first recollections of Manchester United would be going way back, probably in my granny’s house having these little figures of United players. Even before that, I got a United poster for Christmas when I was five years old. My bedroom was all done out in Manchester United stuff: bed covers, posters… so it goes back to when I was just a kid.
It’s hard to put into words exactly what Manchester United means to me. From a young age, I was fanatical about United and I used to cry when the team lost. That’s how much it meant as a kid. Now I feel really privileged to pull on the shirt and go out there and try to make a difference and represent the fans on the pitch."
Ok boss.

If you support United you support United. He only feels the same way about them as we all do about City, and for 90% of football fans it's all about how we were raised. I know that's the case for me, despite not being bought up in Manchester, I supported City because my family did, especially my mum. Evans' family are from the other side of the of the divide but that's no reason to expect Pep not to sign him.
The new Jihai Sun.In that case 18mill is peanuts. Get it done.
Great argument why it's the worst plan ever.
Stones, Smalling, Cahill, maybe Williams and Keane. Think I'm forgetting someone. Jagielka? So Evans is in the top ten ;)
We were fools to start the bidding at 18 million. He is going to cost the same as Avery. The owners would sell the club before selling Evans. In that case 18mill is peanuts. Get it done.
Serious question, can anyone name a defender other than Evans that would improve us (not currently at the club) that would be ok being 3rd or 4th choice CB and would be relatively cheap?
Thanks it was pretty obvious though. Give them Silva in part ex too.
With the high line we employ. I cant think of anyone less suited to our system tbh.Times have changed, and CB's tend to peak at this age. I remember watching Evans against Ibrahimovic and doing well last season, same with Negredo and Benteke. He's not UCL quality. But he's pretty good.

Fixed.
I'd argue he's good enough to be 4th choice for just about anyone. I'd argue that pretty much every CB in the world who's better than him would be unhappy to be so far down the pecking order at any club. Its one reason, the the other is that he's nowhere near good enough.
What who's doing the scouting its freelance nowadays, but the two main scouts support the rags and dippers ;-)Just who is scouting players these days? absolutely no young English players with potential to improve this window. so getting over the ex red he is tall with decent movement and understanding and should be at his peak, on the negative his days at utd was littered with failings which is why fergie played him and dropped him for a month on a regular basis, has he got better probably but it is hard to tell as he plays in a 10 man defense
Thought so. Can't back up outrageous claims.
