Alexis Sanchez

As a counter point, can anyone come up with a comparable situation?

Where 5 world class players have competed for 3 positions - long term - without a few of them being injury-prone cripples.

If that's happened before, I'll gladly get giddy about Sanchez coming.

Until then I'm gonna continue to be pretty wary that this means Agüero is gone come July.

And still you avoid any actual debate about it by making snide comments.
What’s there to debate?

When Aguero was injured we had one (ONE) number 9. Given Jesus was here half a season and missed nearly three months and Aguero missed 8 or 9 games as well then I’d say we need reinforcements.

I can’t wait until we sign him. You won’t change my mind. You won’t change Pep’s. You won’t stop it happening. I’ve very little interest in persuading you. It was you that replied to me in the first place then asked a question if it was really exciting. I replied in the affirmative.

Why are talking about me changing Peps mind?

There's a pretty obvious question to be raised that no team in history has ever maintained that many world class players sharing positions in a squad.

Even if you're 100% pro- Sanchez coming, that's a pretty unavoidable elephant in the room.

Why in God's name would anyone not want us to sign this guy?

Because it’s clear he wants him and is probably as excited as I am.

I didn't know you were privy to his latest opinions on our squad needs.

Not being as intimately acquainted with Peps most recent thoughts as you apparently are, For all I know he might see Sterling and Sané on 15-20 goals by January while Fernandinho is gassed and decide another goalscorer is not the priority it once was.

Ok. Let’s revisit 31st Jan.

The three younger players are going nowhere. Why would they? I suppose that there’s a possibility of Aguero leaving after becoming our all time top scorer and if he does I think it’ll be his decision rather than the clubs. If that’s the case then signing Sanchez makes even more sense,
Obviously given the choice I’d keep Aguero over Sanchez every day of the week. I just have this nagging feeling that Aguero is going to call his City adventure to an end.

No, let's revisit on 1/9/2018 and see if Agüero, Sterling, Sané and Jesus are all still here.
I seem to remember just a few months ago you being very adamant that this exact scenario wouldn't happen when you were arguing with anyone who dared to say this. Unless I have mistaken you for someone else.

Sané and Sterling have clearly gone up a level or 2, especially in goalscoring, and with that my opinion has changed.

That's fair. If we do decide to buy in January, I rather we prioritize a defender as it's a far bigger weakness in our squad.
