We actually can, the money is there we just dont use it.
There seems to be a weird notion on here that we are a poor club, no one in Europe makes more every home game, our prices are sky high and we sell out, and we have been in CL for 20 years. On top of the crazy new tv deals. The money is not an issue, just the ambition.

So how does allowing an asset to walk away for free help the plans ?

But that's the thing. You can't afford to spend it or you won't spend it. It's the same thing. The money isn't being spent.

You'll lose the three players and try and replace them on the cheap and fall further behind yet again.

You e a very real danger of doing a Liverpool and making the CL once every five or six years.

That could well be true, but selling Sanchez now does not help. We dont spend the income anyway, so we might as well keep him.

With Neymar off to PSG, can anyone see a Barca reunion with Sanchez? They will have a need up front.

Why so? I know he's a dick but we could use one tbh
He'd be a miserable addition to our squad. We've got an out and out striker, we need someone who can play both strike and wing like Jesus. Hence Sanchez or Mbappe.

£50 mil has left the £200 mil pot on Lacazzete if Arsenal miss top 4 again even less money, Sanchez and Ozil walk for free Le Arse are in shite IMO. How do you replace that quality with no CL football?

As an Arsenal fan, I hope we stick to our guns and keep Sanchez. We need to compete for top 4 next season and losing our best player will seriously damage our chances and given where the market is, we'd find it impossible to replace him. Yes, he can go for nothing next year meaning we lose out on c£50m, but if he helps secure us top 4, it's a price worth paying. If he goes we can kiss goodbye to top 4 and worse may lead to longer term decline with the awful prospect of our taking Spurs natural place in the table (below top 6). If he stays we have a good chance of top 4 and if secured will help reinforce our position in the more important longer term.

The thing is Sanchez is guaranteed to get in to the Chile side so knows that his performances will not affect his position in the Chile side. There is no guarantees that if Arsenal dont sell him and he feels pissed off there is no guarantee that he will give everything of himself and indeed he could become a huge distraction and issue for team harmony. Indeed if he knows that he is coming to City for instance why would help Arsenal to get top 4 if it meant that City might miss out

Not if you take the £50m and spend some of your £200m in the bank and strengthen with a younger player such as Dybala etc

Why not keep him and spend 200m, why is it only Arsenal that have to act financially prudently, when everyone else throw money around like theres no tomorrow.
Am I really on a man city forum, getting told that 50m is more important than success on the field??
