To add - miss the Bank of England - now that was a shithole with character. Shame theres no real boozers with character round the Etihad like the Osborne and Gardners back at Maine Rd
Same here i took a couple of mates there who are big liverpool fans before a champs league match. They thought is was great and wished they had something similar at anfield.I was Mary D’s biggest fan for years too. I took a Juve fan in there for Celtic home last season and he loved it. Never seen a place like that in his life.
The Manchester (or whatever it is called now) has improved. They’ve spent money on it.
They probably did until their club bought it and left it boarded up.Same here i took a couple of mates there who are big liverpool fans before a champs league match. They thought is was great and wished they had something similar at anfield.

He still has it apparently but recently gave up Kehoes/Baldy Bob’s according to my mate who was a regular in there.
Could think of nowt worse. Glad I’ve not been in there for a decade+Last two DJ’s have been awful DJ ‘ozkat and DJ Chaos’ give me a break.
Beer is shite, stuck in the 80’s, crowded and Munich songs.
I find it remarkable how few pubs there are around the Etihad. The Bank Of England and The Mitchell Arms should be two of a dozen between the ground and Town yet they’re both boarded up and there are NO others! It’s very bizarreTo add - miss the Bank of England - now that was a shithole with character. It’s very difficult to make pubs around football grounds pay. We are not unique in having fewer pubs around our ground. I recall a campaign to save the main pub at Wolves from closing and I think it has now gone.

Think its an away fans boozer?anyone go in the bradford on bradford road we park near it but have never been in always looks empty.
I suppose, for me at least, it just felt too much like old times, if that makes sense. As I said in my post, not a bad place, but I’ve probably grown out of what it offers.Rarely if ever go in myself but dont see ehy theres so many complaints about it. You know exactly what you're getting with Mary D's. If you go in there expecting something different you're not going to enjoy it. For people that are looking for that kind of atmosphere it's great.
