13 points ahead with 13 to play
I'd have taken that in August.

You're off the hook then...just :)I wasn't having a go re you blaming Styrling.
:)
True before Sterling's party piece that early spell early in the second half showed us at our most wasteful, but it's happened in many previous games but just not cost us.Two points tossed away.
We had a spell early in the second half when chance after chance went begging culminating in the Sterling brain fart.
Finally the injuries and fatigue caught up with us and we finished the game as if in a trance.
Yep. We've pulled a further point clear from the start of the week.13 points ahead with 13 to play

You are over reacting there out of context and not reading the thread.
Neville did a pre match one to one with Sterling and focused on him playing on the wrong wing and his new found scoring ability and egged him on to say how many would he score.
I did not say it WAS brilliantly incisive but an ex United player quizzing him on his scoring ability just before that miss will get into his head. It would with anyone. You could see how he reacted banging the ground. It effected him badly.
Confidence is a huge part of his improved game and Pep has helped him gain that. So any knocks are going to be a problem. I believe he needed that last 20 minutes to try to make amends. Had he done so he would be flying. As it is he needs that next goal now to get this miss out of his head.
Thats why I would have kept him on as we have too few forwards at present and we need them all mentally buzzing. Not still thinking about their last miss for which they were hauled off the pitch.
If you think Kun was the biggest problem today then possibly you don't understand football very well.....generally, matches are lost/not won because of either missing lots of chances and open goals (like Rahim in the 71st minute) and/or terrible defending, for example, (switching off at a cross)
What and have his daughter disappear with paleness from living in her Manc cave!Should’ve kept Nolito another season I think he would score plenty in this set up.
Peps stated the cfa is shut until weds and they're all to forget about football. Perfect timing as well. They'll be back refreshed ready to tear into Leicester and get us back on track.Someone made an interesting point. After last weekend we were 12 points clear, two games later and we are 13 points clear so we have actually gained a point, as disappointing not winning today was.
Thank God we have a clear week now before the next game, if I was Pep I wouldn't have them in until Wednesday at least, we need to rest totally. The amount of games and our injuries are mentally and physically taking it's toll. Credit to Burnley for hanging in there though people forget they have a fair few injuries as well.
It is a shame we couldn't have got another forward in before the window shut, I'd have even taken Giroud for the price, just s different option for games like today.
I don't think taking off Sterling was a good idea. He was playing well except for finishing. There have been games in the past when his finishing was off most of the game, only to come up with a goal. Diaz as good as he is is yet to prove that he can score regularly against league teams. He's lightweight and needs more coaching.
Sterling was already in scoring spaces, it's just a matter of time before one of his attempts go in.
This result will be forgotten completely in 3 weeks time
In amongst the gloom and doom, a light can sometimes be seen. But only if you’re prepared to look for that light! All in all a good week
Extended our lead by a point and two more games ticked off
