VAR would have shown what an excuse of a ref was officiating - people who oppose VAR are supporting the corruption of the PL
Indeed, the refs can't hide when it's so obvious like the one on sergio and everyone can see it's so obvious, what PIGMOL don't like is being exposed so they will give the right decisions more often than not i believe,it's the time it takes that seems to annoy people but that will get better with timeMake that 2 pens
Add to that a pen a disallowed goal and an offside in the build up to Liverpool's first and we have been well had off this week.Indeed, the refs can't hide when it's so obvious like the one on sergio and everyone can see it's so obvious, what PIGMOL don't like is being exposed so they will give the right decisions more often than not i believe,it's the time it takes that seems to annoy people but that will get better with time
Yeah, I agree. Even with the odd shitter still going against us, it would have to be better for us in the main - Weds was a classic example, although we were atrocious we’d have had a chance of an unjust 2-2 if VAR had been in operation. It’s been flawed so far, but I’m fairly sure City would benefit from it in the long run.
Var would have helped us in the last 2 games, it certainly couldn't have made it worse.People think VAR is going to help the game. It won't. Scudamore said it is bad for the premier league brand that united are not dominating as they did . They'll just use VAR as and when they want to help them get back to the top
Does anybody seriously think that VAR will be operated openly and fairly because I do not.
The system currently operates to favour the rags and dippers due to the number of fuckers which the two clubs have as " supporters " . COmmercial factors are the main consideration of the FA and therefore nothing which affects the "success" of these teams will be allowed to prevent their progression and the referees are an integral part of their plans.
The system is so fucking corrupt but nothing which affects the favoured clubs will be allowed to prevail.
Fuck the FA and PIGMOL because they are the real destroyers of fair competition within the system. The corruption is so fucking transparent.
Well VAR would have meant you would have got penalty awarded for you yesterday.
The current system means you did not.
How you can be happy with that I do not know.
VAR will not be perfect, but it has to be better than it is without it. At the very least it will remove the referees get out clause of being unsighted or happened too fast. What needs more clarity (from my perspective at least) is how is is used. Would the foul on Kun have been reviewed? clear penalty, but the ref saw nothing wrong, so why would it be VAR'd?.
You can't possibly review every tackle in the box unless it's by a third party who allows the game to continue, which isn't the current proposal, and brings with it as many problems as it solves
I sort of get the non-playing of the video in the stadium, no one wants their mistakes played out in front of tens of thousands whilst they still have a job to do, but not doing so does nothing to improve confidence in officials impartiality
Overall I believe we would have benefited overall this season had the tech been in place
This is the main issue I have with it. An incident will only be VAR'd if the ref is also unsure right? He'll then call for VAR to be used so he can take a look. But in the incident you described the ref saw nothing wrong with the tackle, even though it was a clear penalty, so that wouldnt have gone to VAR.
Unless im missing something, is there someone in another room watching the match who can then tell the ref through a mic that he needs to take a look at something?
It should be a challenge system similar to what is used in American sports or tennis, two per half or something. As bad as stopping play is, playing on after an ignored red-card offense or penalty is worse.
