One or two steps away from being a world elite player.
Would love to have seen him chip the keeper in that one on one but can't argue with three assists. MOTM performance.
Still frustrates the life out of me but he had an excellent game and he will continue to get better.
I’ll quote myself.Watching that video above, didn't realise just quite how much better his final ball and passing has got. He has picked up some central positions really well this season and is playing passes that KDB and Silva would be proud of. Real shame the world cup is this summer, another couple months with Pep would be much better.
Instead he will be off to Russia to be blamed for our inability to get out of the group and has the dinosaur Southgate trying to coach him.
The inevitable fluffed one on one notwithstanding, I thought that was arguably his best performance in a City shirt today. Man of the Match by a comfortable margin. Only Jesus and Fernandinho came remotely close to him.
Yep,he impressed me today,it was a more mature/composed performance than i have witnessed previously. The none penalty was a disgrace. The inevitable fluffed one on one notwithstanding, I thought that was arguably his best performance in a City shirt today. He's certainly a marked man as far as the officials are concerned, and unfortunately only time, while cutting out any theatrics, may change that.
I thought Delph was another who came close to MOTM.
His movement is especially noticeable watching from a higher position at the Etihad (EL3 in my case) - so many times he makes intelligent runs off the shoulder of his marker but doesn't get the pass.I can’t proclaim to know a great deal about football but Sterling’s movement off the ball must be amongst the best in the world.
If he had been a tad more composed and ruthless in front of goal, he would have eclipsed even Salah this season for goals scored. The number of times he finds himself in threatening positions is incredible.
Even though I think Sane is the more exciting prospect of the two, I cannot fathom how he won the young POTY award ahead of Sterling.
