i hope we have put a lot of effort into his goodbye cake or it could turn nasty.
Not sure which is my favourite Yaya memory the winner against United in the semi probably just edges it from the first goal at Newcastle.
The first trophies are always the hardest and he dragged us to the FA cup win and then the first league title.
Best of luck to him wherever he goes.

Thank you for everything Yaya. We could never repay you for what you've done for City. All the best in your next chapter, wherever that may take you.

Been a privilege to watch him. Been described before on here I think as having the strength of a rhino and touch of a ballet dancer. Quite a magnificent player at his peak - could do everything (except perhaps the odd tackle back).
Shame about the antics of his agent and some off field stuff but my view is far too many fans took it too seriously on this forum.
He gave us many great moments but the most symbolic for me was the Rags semi when he drove right through the heart of their defence, left Vidic on the floor and Wio nowhere to be seen (and this by a midfielder!!) - sort of symbolised City driving a stake through the heart of their famed defence (all of the Pisscan’s tens were built on a strong Cb pairing) from which to this day they haven’t recovered from.
When that final whistle went at the semi I started crying.

As stated, not a great surprise but time waits for no man sadly.
Great player, one of the most outstanding midfielders of his generation, power, such raw power, beast of a man who could carry the ball going forward so well.
Smiled as he talked Sane down at weekend over the free kick.
Immortalised with his brother in one of the finest football chants ever.
All the best big man

Yaya, you well and truly milked the Cash Cow that is Manchester city but thank you for the memories. Cupcakes all round.
Mean spirited comment about a great player who is more humble in real life than many on here have said. And you wouldn't talk that way to his face.

Unfortunately some are just like that. For the vast majority Yaya will always be the star he is

great player. May have upset a few along the way whether that being his agent or himself ( i suspect his agent ) Took us to the next level along with a few others. Best penalty taker, who could argue, never missed. However enjoyed watching Mario take them, don't think he missed either!

Fabulous player who has helped get city back on the top table, shame his choice of agent spoiled things a few seasons ago, but he will always be regarded as one of city's greatest players and a legend for all time, i for one will always welcome him back to the Etihad, far too many memories but one goal that will stand out amonst the many, many others was the one at home to villa, night match, got the ball just inside our half and basically just got his head down, took on half the villa side knocking them away with ease and the finish, SUPERB. THANKYOU YAYA.

Thank You Yaya.
Watched it all with many a tear.
Suspect more to come on Wednesday Night!!
Good Luck in everything You do from Here on In - and I for One sincerely hope you are a frequent Returner to share future big City Matches and Occasions.

Apart from all the obvious moments which many others have discussed, which arguably defined who we are now (FA cup semi, FA cup final, Newcastle game, numerous big games in 13-14), one of my favourite Yaya memories was last season when he played at Palace.

A lot of people, myself included thought he was done at City (hadn't been close to a team sheet all year), and then all of a sudden he starts and scores twice including an 82nd minute winner. I can remember being equal parts shocked and excited when I saw his name in the starting lineup.

Incredible player.
Reminded me of the Palace cup game that half of us watched on Periscope, at half time I left the 'City' feed and found a Palace one level with the Penalty area we were attacking.

Yaya had I think left a foot in earlier on and late in the game leading 2-0? We had a free kick just in Yaya's range. The mate of the guy filming said something along the lines on 'FFS if Yaya scores I'm off'.......he left as the ball hit the net muttering more abuse.

A city legend, central to us winning many things, from the goal in the semi final against united to his fantastic performances in 2013/14 winning league season. As well as many other outstanding performances I will be forever grateful.

13/14 was one of the best performances over the course of a full season I've ever seen by a player. Any player. Can't believe he didn't get any player of the year awards, it was that good. Preposterously high levels all season.

A genuine, bona-fide legend and has been the best midfielder in this country since he arrived. Should deservedly be remembered as one of our greats. Probably sneaks into my top 3.

Merlin is without a doubt the best player i've ever seen in a blue shirt but for the impact and what he did during such a key spell in our recent development, yaya for me is the player who has had the biggest impact and for that i will always be grateful to him.

In his prime he was unstoppable and a force the likes not many will ever be privileged to witness.

Scored THE key goal for me. 2011 cup semi final. City fans terrified of another rag beating and up pops the graceful giant and scores the goal that means we are in their shadow no longer. Doubt the PL win would have followed without that and then, after a terrible title defence he has the most unbelievable season and beats the Dippers to the title. The man is a legend and deserves a place right at the top of the City history page. He might be gone but he’ll never be forgotten.
