Jorginho

Personally I think it's disrespectful in itself to be airing the specific numbers and bids that City are putting up. Negotiations should remain behind closed doors, not openly discussed with the media. I can't imagine City would be too amused with him being so forthright.

By making negotiations public, it looks like he trying to invite a bidding war.....It noramlly happens via the media. Remember when we were bidding for Sterling....we kept going backwards and forwards with rumoured 2nd and 3rd bids for weeks...it would seem De Laurentis is alot more direct! Napoli were rumoured to value Jorginho around 60mil(euros) and its looking like he not going to back down from that....maybe things will heat up next week once international duty is done....

Here we go again. Mad and deluded Italian club owning President tells the Football World that City have bid £50mill for one of his players.

Do we walk away or just bite the bullet and pay the President what he wants?

No wonder Serie A is a joke.

It’s going to be hard for us to get deals done quickly for a while after the Sanchez thing I think, unless we pay a ridiculous price, which doesn’t seem to be our style.

Anyone with any sense will wait for our bid, then wait to see if United come in with another nonsensical bid to ‘gazump’ us. I certainly would.

I thought Xavi Alonso was a quality footballer. If the comparison with him someone mentioned in here other day is accurate then I’d be very happy to see him in a City shirt. Alonso liked a tackle though. Hopefully this lad does as well.
You not remember that interview though, when he said, 'Tackling isn't a quality, is it?'?

Depends what the player wants though. We all know what $anch£z chose

Lots of other options still out there.......Weigl? Fred? Thiago? Maybe we start hearing rumoured links to some other DM players, to try push this deal over the line...

Journalist Raffaele Auriemma to Radio CRC: "City have a very precise way of operating in the market - for each position they have three alternatives. If Napoli overplay their hand, City will leave Jorginho and get another, because Pep Guardiola wants his business done by July 9."

With Fred apparently going to the rags, who could it be, Weigl maybe.

Yes.

2 members of staff from the Transfer team at the CFA open day alluded to that.

I said to them is that why we signed Sinclair, and was he the 3rd choice? They just looked at me.

De laurentis is a fucking crooked genius, he kept on dragging the deal while other teams snapped up our back up options, with Fabinho gone and Fred soon to be signed by the rags, the quality of midfield players in the market has significantly diminished and that leaves only one Pep style midfielder in the market, De Laurentis has all the cards now!

Nothing to suggest Fabinho was an option of any kind. Also nothing substantial to suggest there is any hold up other than Jorginho being with Italy. Remember from last year Saturdays and Sundays being the main flapper days too. I put it down to the no matchday thread syndrome.

Fred has also said he wants to wait till after the world cup to decide is future.....he is keeping utd waiting and maybe its because he wants to keep his options open?

Fred hasn't signed for united yet like Jorginho with us and we were never in for Fabinho

I can honestly say that in this era this is he signing I have been most relaxed about. If it happens great. If it does not so what?
I am a little concerned about them lot having that bit more mobility, creativity and composure in midfield with the potential Fred signing.
So if things did come full circle;e with Fred signing, I cant say I would be gutted.
I suspect the Jorghino signing will happen though.
