"When the fuck were you lot in the third division?" he asks in desperation.

I just smiled and enjoyed watching Raheem's performance on the telly.

They seem to conveniently forget or their ignorance about the club they supposedly follow were bailed out on two occasions one by the gambling organisation Littlewoods pools and some years later by the tax man.

In 1990, not one of the England side came in for criticism on their return. That includes Gazza who was so fucked up after his booking that wasn't able to take part in the semi final shoot-out. They all came back as national heroes, including Gazza.
Somehow I don't see Raheem being afforded the same reception, if there's a repeat of the above. Hope I'm wrong though.
