Dead right. Even when we were down in the abyss, they were still obsessed with us. They thought that over the wilderness years our support would just dwindle into insignificance and couldn’t handle the fact that we remained strong, defiant and resilient in support of our team and maintained that characteristic grim and self-deprecating humour in the face of adversity. Many on here will remember those days when several thousand Blues queued up outside Maine Road from the early hours - some came straight to the ground from their Friday night clubbing - to get tickets for away matches like Macclesfield and Northampton. And the midweek lunchtime (I think it was) when tickets went on sale for the play-off semi against Wigan. (It seems to have stuck in the mind that only some 800 or so tickets were available for the Northampton game.)
