Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

Gotcha. I
Pep didn't know about his record. He was interviewed and admitted it. So it was a slight oversight but it doesn't matter that much as we are now in the driving seat

Wow that's surprising. The most prepared manager in the world doesn't know who can take pens and who cant. I guess nobody is perfect. Pep is pretty damn close though!

Given how things played out, we should have won - and it’s disappointing on that basis that we didn’t properly put them back in their box. But let’s not make any mistake - it’s a far, far better result for us than them.

I notice our defence isn't getting any credit in tje media despite not conceding a shot on target at Anfield.

we

well that doesn't bode well for the rest of the season then, knackered after the first set of 3 games in a week
Yeah but whereas we had Brighton at home and mid table Hoffenheim on a Tuesday, they had Chelsea away and Napoli on Wednesday. Different energy levels required.

will never criticize a player for wanting to step up in that situation. Not everyone would. Just a bad penalty.

Excellent team performance and this kind of organisation in a hostile environment fills me with confidence for CL knockout ties. The boys are maturing.
That's the sad part, he didn't want to step up. Even after Mendy came rushing with the instructions. You can see Mahrez pointing to Jesus, as if he was saying 'but Jesus wants to take it." Then Mendy literally pushed him towards the ball. He then almost apologetically points to the bench as he approached Gabby.

Gabby then looks to the bench and walks off dissapoidisdly. That certainly disdid look like a group decision to me.

There weew only 2 players who showed any interest. Gabby who grabbed the ball and Mendy who came rushing in.

Ederson 8
Walker 8
Stones 9
Laporte 9
Mendy 8
Dinho 8
B Silva 9
D Silva 8
Sterling 6
Aguero 6
mahrez 6

Jesus 7
Sane 7

Agree with all that bar mendy who id mark a steady 7, gave the balk away quite a few times in dangerous areas IMO.
Laporte was absolutely phenomenal today and finally loooked every inch a £65m player. He covered mendy and didn’t give salah an inch. There was quite a bit of needle between two which I’m not sure if the cameras picked up. he roughed Salah up and he did not like it one bit.

exactly people make mistakes. Live and learn. The key is we are now in a position to really kick on. The hardest fixture is out of the window and we're still top

American here, no clue what "having kittens" means, but I assume it means you are nervous/untrusting. Which I totally agree with.
That's funny - I teach over here in the US and I occasionally use English expressions that no one gets! The most recent was "donkey's years". They don't know "cockwomble" either, but I mostly use that one when I'm playing footy.

Maybe re David but at least the keeper would have had to make a save. I reckon Eddie would put a keeper in the back of the net given how hard he can hit a ball! Now that the heart rate has come down and my arse has stopped twitching, still top of the league and that's 1 pt up on last season.

And the Dippers two points less?

Quite an even contest in reality. A touch more quality in key areas and the win was ours. A few too many misplaced passes was one of the main reasons for the periods of scouse pressure. Sorry to say it but that penalty miss was criminal, it really was. At least work the goalie. Anyway, a hard fixture out of the way with no real damage done. Get this shite international out of the way and get back and stamp our class on this league.
