Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Haha as i've said all along... It was his agent doing his job well. That's whats hes paid for... Not to go to City, cap in hand, saying, we'll except anything.
Just a shame its Raheem who gets the shit in the mean time while discussions go on.
Can you share what the agreed deal was or are you keeping that close to your chest

If true 300k week is cheap for a playebrof his quality! To replace someone of his quality you looking at 150/200m including wages this will cost city 75m over five years great deal.

"No word from City yet but Sterling’s five-year deal is said to be worth £300k per week, when you factor in all the bonuses and other payments. In reality he’ll get less than the top figure until he wins PL/CL/Balon d’Or etc, like De Bruyne"

yeah basic+bonus = £300k

Half a Sanchez then, relatively good value.

I dunno whats agreed. I'm more on a crusade of trying to educate people how deals are done.

Some people on here think its the 80s and the player and agent sit down with the manager over a pint.

As I always point too... Fernandinho. Took 18 months for him to sign his extension. Hes not of media interest though so his agent and Txiki taking a while didn't interest many.
You aren't gonna get someone more wanting to sign than Fernandinho. Likes the Club, wanted a new deal, family settled, kids basically Mancs now, money wouldn't have been an issue.... But yet it took ages!!!!

All players probably want to sign but it doesn't work like that. Agents are paid to do a job. Not to just get a deal done asap. So many things have to be agreed.
Player happy.
Club happy.
Agent happy.

Its the agent aspect people never get or understand as they think the player controls them as they are employed by the player.

I would imagine for Sterling to actually earn 300K a week we have to win the quadruple, he has to get 30 goals and The Ballon D'or. But he will of course be "£300K Raheem Sterling" from now on.

Great news, if unsurprising.

I felt it was obvious that the agent was doing his job when a link with Real Madrid appeared the day after he scored twice for England. His stock was probably at its highest then. If they were moving for him they wouldn't have leaked anything that week but it was perfect timing for an agent trying to scare a club.

As you say, that's their job.
