Houssem Aouar

I watched Ndomeble before this lad came along in that position and he was just as good, the reason Ndombele moved further forward was because he had the capacity to do so, if we want a DM Aouar can do a job but if we want a Fernadinho back up Ndombele is the one
Neither can play DM.
Aouar doesn't have the workrate and isn't physical enough, Ndombele doesn't like defending or playing in a defensive position and has said it in interviews many times.
You can't turn a player who has never defended much and doesn't like it into a Fernandinho replacement.

Furthermore Ndombele was a striker when he was younger hence why he is far more offensive, he also has the mindset that he shouldn't have to defend against smaller clubs.

Think De Jong will end up at PSG. This lad was the best player on the park in Lyon the other week, very talented young player.

Thanks for the input but you can turn a player more defensive , Aguero Jesus De Bruyne, Silva, Bernardo, Delph, Zinchenco, all play more defensive than they have in the past, it is all about getting the best out of a player for themselves and the club, because if he stays as he is he is not going to be good enough for us

Troubling.

If the player is willing to do so yes for sure.
When he goes out of his way in interviews to say that he doesn't like defending and that from his point of view he shouldn't have to defend against smaller clubs It's a bit harder.

It is true what you are saying , Nathan Ake is a player that does not like playing LB so now he is playing for Bournemouth not Chelsea

Pep Guardiola is eyeing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar as a successor to Fernandinho. The City boss is a massive fan of the 20-year-old after facing him in two Champions League games this season. [via @SunSport]

Aouar is long-term target and is expected to break the £50million barrier if he leaves Lyon. He is tied into a long-term deal until 2023 with the French club. [via @SunSport]

Guardiola also rates Houssem Aouar at Lyon and congratulated the France Under 21 international after their recent 2-2 draw in the Champions League.

Those close to Aouar have remained tight-lipped about the prospect of a move away since City's trip to Lyon last month.

You make an interesting point, kidding or not! It is very hard to add players to this squad because of foreign player quoatas . Now we can safely assume Zinchenko will be released in January/Summer. This will free up a spot for nDombele/FDJ. But if a new talent emerges over the next few seasons that we really want then players will have to be sold or dropped from the squad.
Next few seasons will see Dave, Vinny, Aguero, Delph, Zinchenko, Possibly Nico all gone so we will have lots of room

I can't translate so maybe you can better, but maybe he means as a whole. Like how Mourinho's teams defend. I think that the modern player knows that they will have to defend at some point, but when you have majority of the ball like we do you don't defend as much. Even Sane and Sterling who's positions it is to attack have to come back to defend.
