Running thread

I’m still keeping the challenge up of running every day. I just done 2 miles setting off at 4:30am as have a flight today.
Mrs thinks I’m a right weirdo, and that’s without my CD collection.

19 mins !
Did you win the race ?

Haha no 5th or 6th I think! 16-17 mins won it. There’s a GB triathlete who runs it and wins it most weeks in 17 mins. Lovely guy but I’d look to find one I could have a crack at first place. Either that or train harder for it

19 mins is incredibly quick. Fair play.

21 minutes? Is that on a bike?

Might come and do Worsley woods once the weather warms up, too long that cross country section in this weather to get a good time. Ironically last time i ran WW i got 21.34 and that was after an 8 mile bike ride to it............... then home again.

25:03 my PB.
Hitting around 26/27 nowadays.

21.04, so pissed off that day i hadn't pushed a little harder that day.

Only just started back at Park Run last Saturday, after the injury i'd had i was putting miles in but not going too fast as didn't want to aggravate it, first time i pushed it last Saturday and was 22.11. Not doing it this weekend as got a 10k on Sunday, hoping for 45 minutes on that, then back at PR next week.

I know what you mean. All my week runs I keep at a gentle 'talking' pace...that's how you're supposed to do it (don't go all out basically) then push a threshold run once a week (a park run for instance). I was the same when I grabbed 20:49...it's literally taking off only 10 seconds per KM...but it does reach a point where you really have to run your heart out.
The Stretford one (Longford Park) is a good one for PB's - the start and finish are on a running track.

Was going to try Stratford at some point. Have ran Worsley, Sale, Bramhall and Chadderton but Heaton Park is my local one. Tough with a big hill in the middle.

Atherton running club great bunch really helps my running even got me in to trail runs. You will smash it mate I just want to get round that’s my aim

Found it much better as part of a group than running alone, always someone a bit quicker which helps you improve.
Good luck with it mate, tough going between 16-19 miles as there’s fuck all out there in Carrington so messes with your head a bit.
I’m just glad it’s not after Derby day this year as after a skinfull of Guinness it was extremely tough.
Rough weekend all in all last year....

Yeah heard a lot about the misery of the Carrington stretch-yeah that was definitely a match to forget! Good luck mate.

East London? That's some distance for a Saturday 9am start....

Just done Mad Dog Southport 10k, 45:30. Happy with that.
Now on way back for a few beers and the match.
Got my 10k PB of 46:24 last weekend at the X-Border race. Really chuffed with it as that's 3 minutes off my previous PB.

Up to 201 miles so far in 2019. Not sure what my January total was but I've done something like 34 miles over the last 3 days so it's about 167. Training for my 5th London in April so I'm happy with how it's going so far.
