Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

Edit: mind you, I thought the same about young CriRo, but he has somehow managed to become an incredible goalscorer.

Love Sane, probably my favourite City player to watch when he's on it and I hope he kicks on again so he's back to first choice. Really is no comparison to a young Ronaldo though. Remember watching the twat at the Etihad for the first time and thinking he'd become the best player in the world. Leroy doesn't have the touch, strength or heading ability that Ronaldo had and is completely one footed. Not slagging Leroy because he can be amazing but I agree some blues get carried away when talking about him as a future world player of the year or scorer of 35 a season.[/QUOTE]

Sané is way better than the Ronaldo I saw.

Kid needs to grow up and start being a pro.

Attitude stinks at the mo.

Were you saying that last Thursday?

He was left out for players in worse form at his boyhood club, came on and changed the game. Yet is back the bench for players in worst form for the cup final.
Worked hard again last night, things just weren't going his way. In 21 starts in the PL & CL he has, 11 goals and 10 assists. Yet he's the one left out. He's outperforming De Bruyne & D Silva by some distance currently, yet is missing out in huge games. No wonder he's a little unhappy.
Sané over the season is pretty much out performing Sterling, who is rightly being lauded. Sterling is on 14 goals & 10 assists from 29 CL & PL starts.
They should both be starting when fit.

Those two have dropped more serious bollocks in recent games alone, than Sané has since we signed him, but are beyond reproach.

I really felt for the lad when he was left out for Schalke. When he came on and transformed the game, I thought, great. Lad deserves to start in the cup final. Left out again. Not for players in form but way out of form.

Currently Bernardo & Sterling are being moved to accommodate and under performing Kev and tired looking David. And Sané is being left out all together.

I'll be honest, I've got no answer in how to get Silva & De Bruyne back in the groove.

Jesus christ why?! How can anyone have watched last night's game and not immediately thought "Ah yeah that's why Pep has preferred Sterling and Bernardo on the wings."

Likewise, who could have watched the cup final or any game in the last month and thought, yeah, that's why De Bruyne should be preferred to Bernardo, Sané & Sterling in their favoured positions.

I'm hoping Silva is struggling due to fatigue, as you say, or injury. Otherwise it's all over for him.

KDB probably just needs time. Some of his passes last night were superb, but some of the mistakes both are making, are pretty awful & quite commonplace right now.

Sané doesn't deserve to be singled out for any negative comments, by comparison.

Your first paragraph is fucking laughable.
It certainly won’t be a surprise to see him make fools out of some of the wannabe football oracles we have on this forum.
Sane has been pretty fucking poor for a while and a fantastic free kick doesn’t change that.
Great player, shite attitude. I’d take a poorly performing Silva giving it everything over a sulking Sane who goes into a shell when it’s not going for him every day of the week.

“It’s all over for him” Haha! A below average couple of months is all it takes to come out with this shite?

I didn't say that.

I said IF his current standard is something other than fatigue or injury THEN it's all over for him.

As the 3rd option would be: he's past it.

He was up there with our best performers prior to his injury that kept him out.
He’s not been great since returning although nowhere near as bad as being painted on here. You don’t become past it in two months when you’ve got the ability that he has and don’t rely on power or pace.
You’re not the first to suggest it and probably won’t be the last but everyone who does are overreacting horribly.

Love Leroy .
Direct.power.pace to burn.

A bright future ahead. Ho and decent at free kicks and brave enough to step up for penalty at Wembley before many much, much more experienced and senior players.....

Form can and does come and go. Class however is permanent.
He and sterling would play every week for me . But in Pep we trust

I'm not suggesting it, as I've said twice.

I'm saying that if his current form isn't down to fatigue or injury, it is most likely down to age.

He fell off a cliff formwise, & he picked up an injury at that time.

If that's a coincidence, then it's very unlikely he just 'happens' to have gone from best player in the Prem, tonot really good enough to be in the team, just out of pure loss of form, he's not an inconsistant 23 he's 33.

So that leaves fatigue or past it.

I have already said on here, I believe he's carrying an injury.

But if he isn't, & this is his true Level, he's will soon be a Frank Lampard/ Patrick Vieira/Yaya, stand in, rather than what he was.

At the moment, on Silva's current form, Sané is miles more important to us imo.

"Poor for a while" is pretty laughable. His numbers are outstanding this season. He's incredibly dangerous. His dip in form coincides with that of those behind him & us playing Bernardo on the right. Narrowing our own attacking options and playing with less pace does not help Leroy.

Yeah you keep banging on about his numbers but his overall performances when actually picked haven’t been anything to shout about.
He is incredibly dangerous, no doubts about it. He has more natural ability than most of our squad and with the right application could go on to be one of the best in the world. This season has seen him regress a little from last year though and padding his stats doesn’t change that for me.
Maybe there’s some truth in his form dipping due to those behind him seeing a dip also yet it seems like a convenient excuse when you factor in the season Sterling is having (yeah I know, Sane has great numbers as well)
The fact is if he hadn’t been poor for a while he’d be getting a lot more game time than he’s been seeing.

How are Bernardo and Sterling "way out of form"? They're our best wide duo atm and it's not even close.

Sorry? Are you saying actual productivity isn’t relevant to his performance? He’s an attacking player that’s directly responsible for a goal almost every time he takes the field.

He’s not getting more game time because people in worse for are getting the minutes.

Also the two players directly responsible for supplying him are in slumps at the moment.
