Var debate 2019/20

There was an angle that showed it clearly went in off his arm. Why wasn't the ref shown that angle? It was clearly handball by UEFA's own new rules that they've been enforcing everywhere else. I was convinced it'd get ruled out on the replay

Same reason rags were awarded a pen against PSG. They will not allow either of us to win it

You’re killing me, as many of you are tonight. It hit his elbow, clear as day. Illegal part of the body and didn’t hit any other part before it went in.

How many replays do you need to see before you realise it hit his hip then went in not of his elbow?

Just accept you are wrong and you may sleep a little easier tonight.

If we scored it would you want it disallowed or is VAR only supposed to help us?

Llorente gained an advantage by using his hand intentionally or not, it’s irrelevant. By UEFA’s new standards issued straight after the Otamendi handball against Shalke, any ball that hits a hand that gains an advantage is considered handball. The fact is we were shafted for at least the 4th year running by UEFA and their officials, whether it’s the blatant match fixing of the Liverpool games last year or the ‘conveniently forgetting’ to show the referee the angle which proves beyond any shadow of a doubt Llorente gained an advantage with his hand this year.

The fact it’s so predictable, read my posts back and you’ll see I told you all what would happen at the start of the Champions League campaign with the officials deciding our destiny. I made the decision to not attend Champions League games like I know a lot of other City fans did and this is why. Bent as fuck.

Oh and the Aguero offside replays are stopped before the ball leaves Bernardo, run that a split second on, he’s not offside.

This, this, this.

Without hitting his elbow, it probably wouldn’t have gone in. That is beside the point, anyway, it still hit his elbow!

Ah fuck it, were out. Tired of arguing.

Yes it did. It hit his fucking hip!
Forearm to hip... not the other way around... important distinction. The letter of the law says it shouldn't have stood. End of.

If VAR wasn't in place there'd be less reason to grumble(we had one vs Spurs last season was it?) but it's inexcusable that was given with the technology now in place.

So presumably if it had hit Kompany’s arm like that you’d want a penalty awarded against us?
You mean like the one given against Otamendi? He’s attacked the ball and it’s rolled from his arm to his hip to allow a goal. That’s very different to a player standing still to block a shot.

No handball imo. Has to be intentional or hand has to be in position like way outside, in the air or similar like Rose penalty, or Kimpembe or even Otamendi vs Schalke.

This was pure unlucky that it hit his arm, then his chest and found the net. Pure fucking unlucky situation except we should have fucking cleared it before it got to him. Why was there enough space between defender and Llorrente for the ball to be able to hit him around his chest? We should have been much closer to him especially given his height.
Awful defensive mistake again. Got punished. Kompany WTF is he doing there? He was front of Llorente he even touched the ball wih his shoulder it should have been a simple header.
If you think that hit Llorente’s chest you need to go for a lie down sunshine.

The letter of the law literally says the opposite.

How many replays do YOU need to see.?The evidence is there.

Forearm - THEN hip, then NET :(

Nope I will think you will find you are wrong there. It does not.

This was cleared up on the Wily Boly goal this season. The offside rule defines which parts of the body can be used... and which part of the body is the only part you cant be offside with?
