Why we will win the league!

Benitez will not roll over for them. Newcastles fans would not stand for that. Its their last home game and maybe even Rafas last ever. As we found out they can be a tough team to beat at their place. I think they will at least get a draw.

I would be absolutely staggered if they got a draw. Nothing to play for.

I wouldn't.
We've only got 4 games left.
They've still got their remaining premier league games plus Barcelona over two legs.
Klopp would rather just have the premier league left to concentrate on.

Even Pep said us going out of the champions league and them staying in has come too late to really have an impact.

We lost to them because we didn't turn up they themselves didn't exactly play well.

I'm still convinced Klopp would rather not have to negotiate two (extra) games with Barcelona.

If the tables were turned they'd (the pundits & broadcasting media) be reminding us how Liverpool have got the clear advantage.

All I know, is that if Pep manages this team to another title this season, it will be an even greater achievement than last season, purely because the players have coped brilliantly with the intense mental pressure to catch the bin dippers in early January and then maintain the mental pressure against the dippers game by game ever since.

This season has been all about mental toughness and togetherness of the team and they've passed with flying colours (so far), long may it continue.

And if we miss out (big if) we will continue to be the best side in the country. No way Liverpool will do this two seasons running. The gap to 3rd is 19 points! There are only 2
Sides in the same league at the moment.

I remember being made up when West Ham stopped United winning the title in 95 or whenever it was. United then won 6 of the next 8 premier league titles. Not saying we would do the same but we have in 10 years gone from mid table at best to 3 x premier league winners, 4 times league cup winner and Fa cup winner with possibly another to come.

The infastructure we have in place is the best in the world. We have the best owners, the best academy and we currently have the best manager.

We have achieved so much this season without a left back for most of it and without KDB, one of the best players in the world.

I think we will win all four games because we have a winning mentality and the four sides we face are just not at our level. However, if we don’t, we will be back again next season and the one after and the one after that.

It’s all good.

We keep hoping and saying they will slip up,and lo and behold they win,but there is an irony attached to this game in that Liverpool beat Newcastle 4-3 to knock the stuffing out of them and the rags won the league after being what 12 points or so behind,Newcastle fans won’t have forgotten that never mind how many years back it is,this is their chance to level the score and regardless Benitez being ex scouse manager and apparently still living in Merseyside,I’m sure connections at Newcastle will be letting it be known what the score is...

He lives in the Wirral which is not quite the same, infact they get very offended and point out they are actually Cheshire.

They wont drop a point from hereon in. We simply have to win all our games. Its all down to Wednesday for me as I think like them we will win the rest. United are dire but its a derby and anything can happen and we are looking a bit knackered. Wednesday will decide it.

I don't think fatigue is going to be an issue for us in the Derby.

We're playing for a back-to-back title.
They're flogging a dead horse to finish in the top four.

Nah. Those 2 weeks where they're having to deal with Barca between league games and we've a full week to prepare for the league matches is a big difference, although the CL matches haven't stopped us winning league games so far.

Its a derby. We're tired. They're hurting. I really hope this is as easy as some fans think but with over 50 years of watching derbies Im beginning to twitch early for this one.

United getting smashed by Everton today and getting slated by everyone on tv and in the papers wasn’t good for us

The cnuts will be like a wounded animal, they will be out to put things right and how better than against your cross town rivals,I was hoping they would draw today or a against the run of play a win as it would have give them that false hope that things were better than they are,now they will be determined to show a reaction, but it’s up to us to just play our game and if we do then hopefully we get the win,but it will be closer than we think ..

Yep. I don’t quite go along with this ‘we’re miles better than them we’ll smash them’ rhetoric. If only football, let only a derby, was that simple.
