Why we will win the league!

It is Liverpool who blew a 10 point lead , lets not forget that ,and we have just won 10 league games on the bounce , our record at the Swamp and Burnley is very good , and since the title has been in our hands the Dippers havent interested me , if we do our job by winning 4 more games and the title is staying at the Etihad , and Klopp and his dentures can do f*ck all about it. If the Dippers get 97 points and dont win the title , it will absolutely crush them , and they will never get that number of points again with VAR in place.

Yep. I don’t quite go along with this ‘we’re miles better than them we’ll smash them’ rhetoric. If only football, let only a derby, was that simple.

True , we did it to them so many times , we had inferior players all over the pitch and beat them a fair few times , we need to be clinical and the doughnut thief not to have a worldy mofm performance

I doubt we will ever score again with VAR in place...…...

I completely agree with every word.

We keep hoping and saying they will slip up,and lo and behold they win,but there is an irony attached to this game in that Liverpool beat Newcastle 4-3 to knock the stuffing out of them and the rags won the league after being what 12 points or so behind,Newcastle fans won’t have forgotten that never mind how many years back it is,this is their chance to level the score and regardless Benitez being ex scouse manager and apparently still living in Merseyside,I’m sure connections at Newcastle will be letting it be known what the score is...
That same thought crossed my mind. Football supporters have long memories and since that 4-3 in 1996 Newcastle have not challenged nor have they won anything to boot. If I was a Georgie I would relish the opportunity to fu@k them over. Having said that I expect the dippers to prevail in that fixture.

Unfortunately, the Liverpool game today went pretty much as we all expected, despite praying otherwise. The scum, however, were, by common consent, crap.
We will just treat the Derby the same as all other games lately - buzzing from the start and showing our total superiority in every aspect of the game. It's in our control and that's the way it'll stay.
Liverpool have yet to cope with their big week - Barcelona, Newcastle, Barcelona.. Then Wolves... won't be easy to win them all.
Their CL week will involve travel, tiredness, squad rotation. A lot will hinge on what happens in the first leg and whether they go all out to win both competitions or essentially sacrifice the CL for the Prem. Newcastle will indeed be interesting.

Was this in the 11 years we went without beating them? Or the 35 years we went without a win at the swamp?

The cnuts will be like a wounded animal, they will be out to put things right and how better than against your cross town rivals,I was hoping they would draw today or a against the run of play a win as it would have give them that false hope that things were better than they are,now they will be determined to show a reaction, but it’s up to us to just play our game and if we do then hopefully we get the win,but it will be closer than we think ..
I would expect a fergie united to have an reaction, they invariably did after a defeat, but this bunch don’t strike me as the wounded animal type. Derby games are great equalisers as despite consistently finishing above them our results against them are not so consistent, but I think other factors will come into play on Wednesday. The squad is about to be broken up and players are thinking about where they are going to end up, confidence and belief are low, OGS is not exhibiting the necessary game management skills needed to turn around a difficult match, the fans (and this is a huge issue) do not want Liverpool to win a title. Pep will put everything into winning this game, he will pull all the stops, no squad resting needed here, best team, get the job done. Have confidence pal, we fight to the end, we fight to the end, we’re Manchester City and we fight to the end!!!

We keep saying this about them but they won't drop another point. It's all about what we do.

I think it all depends on the 1st leg at Barca.
If they get turned over there like the rags did then Klipperty will focus on the PL and play the strongest side in the Prem's next game and a weakened side in the 2nd leg.

However if they come away with a defeat by a single, even 2 goals or even a draw then he will rest players for the Prem and go all out for the 2nd leg.
He can't play that front 3 for all 3 games....

some people on here need to tuck their fanny's in!

Both us and Liverpool deserve the title this year. if we win four games we are back to back champions! if we don't then were not!

we should be beating the four teams we have left to play!

We certainly don't need any other teams to do us any favours!

No one is flapping their fannies about.
Following a football team is about hopes, expectations, fears, dreads, agonies, ecstacies, highs, lows and everything in between.
It's about emotions.
What is being expressed on here are some of those emotions.
Liverpool may well be deserving of winning the title this year but do you think any City fan cares about that. Do you think that if, God forbid, Liverpool do end up winning it that we are going to shrug our shoulders and give Liverpool a polite round of applause.
The hopes and expectations we have carried for the whole season are going to be shattered.
People on here are going to be devastated and feeling like shit.
Now, I know you probably mean well and you are just trying to give the thread a bit of perspective, but I do think it's a bit unfair to tell people to tuck their fannies in just because they are feeling a bit nervy and are expressing their fears just before a crucial game.
Oh, and every team needs other teams to do them favours all season long. In fact many teams have already done us favours this season by holding Liverpool to many draws otherwise Liverpool would have been on 101 points and already champions elect.

Must be tough, torn between all that European tradition & a Prem they've never won. Hopefully, he'll fuck the lot up.
